Hi gang~
I just got dumplin' to daycare a little while ago--we slept in. We were up pretty late playing and stuff.
My walk will be a little later today, but I will get it in. I just got the house put back in some kind of order--the babies all tucked back in their beds, strollers put away, and high chairs and rockers back in their place.
The kids are coming home again this weekend! YAY!! We have a late Christmas get together for my late husband's side. I was already informed we are meeting with a bunch of Brady's friends at the local bar after dinner tonight. They all grew up at my house, calling me mom, so it will be good to see them again.
The only thing is they all love to buy me a drink and think it's SO funny to see me drink cuz I'm such a wuss! (now anyway--used to be a lounge lizzard in my day though ) I suppose I'll hafta show those whipper snappers how this drinking stuff is done....eee haa hmmmm what was good for a hang over again???
Other than that, I've just gotta make a big meal for everyone. That's not so hard. They love the roast beef with the potatoes, carrots and onions thrown in the roaster, and a cucumber salad. Oh, and Hailey and gramma made chocolate chip cookies last night too. Did you know dough pops right off windows when it dries? We had one casuality egg too--she missed the mixing bowl when pouring it in and it went down the drain. TOO FUNNY!!! She took half to daycare to share, and I'm sure they other half will be eaten this weekend, so gramma won't hafta worry about eating them. I did eat two of them last night, but big deal.
What's everyone else up to? Or just pop in and say hi.
Hugs,
Jan
Hey curious--I was writing my thread while you did yours, and I copied mine here, so could you delete mine please? Thanks!

Curious and Jan and anyone else who pops in, I have a confession. Last night I made hamburgers and tater tots and then I had the last 3 pieces of my Christmas chocolates. After the burgers and tots, I figured I may as well through in the candy and get it all over with at once. I did really well the first 4 days of my diet. HaHa
Curious - you are doing well, keep it up hon. Wish I had a little trainer! Hope lil' monkey has fun at the track meet. Fun is what it's all about!
Jan - have a couple of "belts" for me, as my father used to say. That is so neat that all the boys called you Mom. I can just see you with all those kids - so neat.
We haven't started Weight Watchers yet. Still finishing up from the holidays and then I had the doctor yesterday. He confirmed that I do have a neurogenic bladder and went over a few "help items". The great news is that my kidneys are clear - yeah!
Today I clean our bedroom. My cleaning lady raised her prices from $15 to $20 an hour!!! And she wasn't that good. So I'm going to see what some cleaning does to my pain level because it's a good source of activity.
It rained here in the desert last night. Tootsie (my weiner dog) didn't like it at all and therefore we all were up. She's sleeping now -
Have a great day and week-end everyone.
Love ya,
nancy

Hi Curious, Jan, and Nancy.
Curious, I am proud of you for doing well with your dieting.
Jan, in my day I too loved to sip in the lounges. Now one 7 oz. of beer gets me tipsy.
Nancy, tomorrow is always another day.
My chest cold has gone into my head and I feel so lousy that I made an appointment with the doctor for tomorrow. I've been sick since New Year's Eve and I'm not getting any better.

off days are good for the soul. :D shoot nancy..i'd be worried iffin ya smothered the tator tots with chili and cheese...and had a milkshake with it. you didn't do that bad honey. today is a new day.
take the cleaning slow. pace yourself. i am a clean freak. a vacuum daily addict. some days my pain levels are very high. i will use a light weight carpet sweeper. and those micro fiber clothes are my best friends. :p
my folks offered to have a maid service come in weekly for me...as my christmas present. i'm weird..i'd have clean before they got here. :o

I went to Curves this morning and finally broke a sweat. Seems silly to take a shower before going if I'm going to work that hard. Course having my hair standing straight up influences me greatly. :p
Mr.Alffe is taking me out to dinner tonight and I'll probably be bad..I'm good at it. :o

Sorry you are still sick. I am too. I have had this broncitis two weeks and 3 days now. Actually it's in my sinis'es (sp) now. I don't know when it will get better. I sound worse, but feel some better. I been cleaning the house today. I have to work tomorrow at this Christian place. I actually like doing it for I work with people and enjoy that. I don't know a stranger. It's volunteer work, if I could find a job like that, I'd have it made.
I have been working on the treadmill some off & on. I sure hope I can take off the 5 pounds by Valentines Day. I over slept this morning and had a hair appointment, so no breakfast for I had to go to the farm when I got done. I was meeting some people there and it was noon by the time I got back. I'm still putting Christmas stuff up. I just keep finding something I missed. Ha!
You all have a good weekend.
Hugs,
BC:)

Sniff sniff....did someone say Pizza?
The advantage of exercising every day is that you die healthier.
I am going to start exercising again on monday...
dieting...too many goodies left for me to eat...and I cna't seem to throw them away.
will power has to return.....
say some good wishes for me please.
thank you

Good for you! You look wonderful, thin and healthy Bizi...the reason is you eat right for the most part and exercise!...why can't I do that. :o
I think it's laziness and probably some gluttony...love to cook, read cookbooks, try new restaurants and fun always seems to include eating.
OK, now that I've identified the problem.....the solution is????
Will power? redefining fun?? Pie is good...2 pieces are better. :D
I do go to Curves 5 days a week and talk alot about getting on our treadmill on the weekends.
Eat less, exercise more....it sounds so simple. :Sigh:
Dear Alffe,
I am very proud of you for going to curves again and for being able to throw out all of those sweets after the holidays!!!!
That showed great restraint!
The weather was gorgous so we worked in the yard:
Under piles of leaves and brush We found two big posts (for hanging laundry) in the back of the yard with concrete attached to the bottoms.
They weighed 300 pounds...each I am sure.
Jeff and I dragged them from the brush and decided they would ruin the grass if we had to try to move them the entire length of the yard...they were too heavy for us.
So I happened to hear some neighbors across the street...a couple of strappy guys with the older folks...so being brave and panting from us trying to move them...asked if they would be so kind to give us a hand.
They helped us move them and I do think they were reeally shocked at how heavy they were...took all 4 of us to move each one.
They are sitting on the grass in our front yard.
Now what to do with them?
There is no way the regular trash guys could take them away!
I am not even sure what to do with them...think we will call the city to figure out.
2 hours of pruning trees and yard work followed by the above haul...we find ourselves very sore today!
Long story short is that was my exercise for the day!
Today much house work and paper work sits before me...time for a cup of french vanilla coffee to get me moving...it is rainy today.
off I go!

mmm that French vanilla coffee sounds delicious!
well I'll get back on the exercise "plan" Monday - and not get so into it so that I overdo my arms part of it -- still sore from it.
more leg & abs work and less arm swinging is my motto!
