the teddybears have their picnic!

Mr.Alffe woke me up singing that this morning and it's funny how something can get stuck in your head.

If you go down to the woods today
you'd better not go alone.

It's lovely down in the woods today
but safer to stay at home.

cause every bear that ever there was
is there today for certain because

today's the day the teddy bears have their
picnic

Anyone remember the next verse? :D

That's cute! :D I've not heard it before, but I'm willing to venture a guess about the next verse:

Does a bear ____ in the woods after the teddybears have their picnic?

:o We collect teddies and all sorts of stuffed critters. Some day I'll tell you a wonderful story of DH needing a "hard" telephone line in our bedroom with wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling teddies.

Today would be a good day to tell us Jingle....:D

bobbi....now where else would a bear...................:p

I'm in a silly mood today.

My Dad used to sing...

It ain't gonna rain, it ain't gonna rain,
It ain't goona rain no more........

but how in the heck can a fella wash his neck
if it ain't gonna rain no more?

LOL! Mr. Alffe cracks me up.

You made me think of when I was little. My dad used to play You Are My Sunshine on his harmonica, and I would sing along. But I ain't never heard of the bears having a picnic song, LOL!

Sing it again, Alff!

If you go out in the woods today
You're sure of a big surprise.
If you go out in the woods today
You'd better go in disguise.

For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic.

Picnic time for teddy bears,
The little teddy bears are having a lovely time today.
Watch them, catch them unawares,
And see them picnic on their holiday.
See them gaily dance about.
They love to play and shout.
And never have any cares.
At six o'clock their mommies and daddies
Will take them home to bed
Because they're tired little teddy bears.

If you go out in the woods today,
You'd better not go alone.
It's lovely out in the woods today,
But safer to stay at home.

For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic

CHORUS

Every teddy bear, that's been good
Is sure of a treat today
There's lots of wonderful things to eat
And wonderful games to play

Beneath the trees, where nobody sees
They'll hide and seek as long as they please
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic

I had to find a place to read the rest of the words.... i coulnd't remember them. SO i copied them and pasted them here....

Oh thank you Goofy....I was going to google that today. I didn't remember there were so many verses! And now it's in my head again...:D

Another song my dad used to sing to me was:

Daisy, daisy, give me your answer do......I'm half crazy, all for the love of you
It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage.

But you'll look sweet, upon the seat
of a bicycle built for two.

Okay, in the mood for songs now, a tribute to 2 lovely people...

Going to the chapel
And we're gonna get married
Going to the chapel
And we're gonna get married

Gee I really love you
And we're gonna get married
Going to the chapel of love

Spring is here.....
Theeeeee.....
The sky is blue (whoa-ooooo)
Birds all sing
Like they do

Today's the day
We'll say "I do"
And we'll never be lonely anymore
Because we're

Going to the chapel
And we're gonna get married
Going to the chapel
And we're gonna get married
Gee I really love you
And we're gonna get married
Going to the chapel of love

Bells will ring
The sun will shine (whoa-oooooh)
I'll be his
And he'll be mine

We'll love until
The end of time
And we'll never be lonely anymore

Because we're
Going to the chapel
And we're gonna get married
Going to the chapel
And we're gonna get married
Gee I really love you
And we're gonna get married
Going to the chapel of love
Going to the chapel of love
Going to the chapel of love ...

I know who those two lovely people are...if they weren't so busy getting ready I bet they'd pop in and say howdy!

I don't have a lot of luck trying to add urls....

http://www.besmark.com/index.html

I was looking for an old civil war song my dad used to sing and I think I found it.

I didn't know where to post this but it occurs to me that most of our threads are off topic...if all we talked about was suicide it would be hopefully, a very inactive forum.

There is always "that elephant" in this room....we always had more lurkers than posters in this forum but we have surely learned a lot from each other.

Whether we have lost a loved one to suicide or are feeling suicidal ourselves...this is the place to talk about it because we really do "get it".

Hugs for the room.

Oh, and I'm going to N.Y.for several days so don't have too much fun without me. ;)

Please remember: To be angry is natural. To be angry at ourselves and others is normal. But to be so angry at another that you turn this awesome aggressive power on yourself is neither natural nor normal. It is, rather, an expression of the formula that frustration leads to anger leads to aggression.
And if you are not careful and smarter than the average bear, you may become a victim of it.

So before you kill yourself to "show" someone just how mad you are at them, consider that, should you succeed, your suicide will have created nothing, contributed nothing, and changed nothing. True, you will have made a statement about how angry you were, but ask yourself, "Do I have to say it this way?"

I hope not.

And how about being AFRAID?

I realize I am jumping in here, perhaps where I don't belong. But I think the next question is...afraid of what? Everyone experiences fear in one form or another. And that is not to belittle it, believe me. Fear is a big factor in my life. Fear can paralyze, I know, I have experienced it. That heart pounding fear that will stop you in your track. Then there are other fears. Like fear of what the future holds, fear that pain will never end, fear of becoming non-functional whether that be physically, or mentally, or emotionally, or all of these. Some of us have a harder time facing fear than others of us. That is the beauty of being able to form a human chain of hands reaching for hands. At least, here, there is no fear of rejection, no judgement. Or, at least, I hope so. So, whoever may read this, I hope you will reach out that hand through whatever fear there may be. Because, somehow it can be worked through, one baby step at a time. OK, I am through ranting. Lots of  for anyone, and everyone, those I know, and those I don't know, and those I am getting to know...:grouphug:
