Someone somewhere mentioned that it would be nice to have backups of all the stories posted. You can find them by googling "Our Journeys to Gluten Free - Page 1 +braintalk" (without the quotes) and select the cache option.

Then just change the search criteria to Page 2, etc.

Losing all those great threads is the saddest part to me.

I am happy I had my orginal copy of TGF and a copy from May 2005 so that I didn't need to recreate it, but I COULD have recreated from scratch once more it if need be because PubMed isn't going anywhere, and I could relocate most of the other links as well. TGF is 98% hard data.

But.... We can't recreate all those wonderful discussions that followed the threads, the personal anecdotes, the food studies, genetics explanations, ... all those "Interesting Threads" indexed in TGF which I personally referred back to many times. So much gone.

I do still hope that OBT comes back so we have access to all those great informational threads we've lost.

Anyway to save the pages and recreate the thread here? I really like the stories.

I've got them bookmarked, so I can copy them here, but wasn't sure if I should being they're other people's stories and all. If it's ok with everyone, I'll copy them over.

I think it would be best to allow others to copy their own posts over. I personally wouldn't want someone copying something I wrote and posting it elsewhere...especially when some of the information is personal. I mean, I know when we post it is out there for the whole world to read, but I still somehow feel differently at the thought of it being copied over to places I'm not aware of.

Sadly, this means we are losing some good stories.

I think if you can link to a thread in total...that is a whole 'nother thing. Then it is more of finding something good! Can you link directly to the cached pages?

Thanks, Cara.

It really didn't feel right to copy over the posts like that. Linking is a good idea. Each page must be linked separately. I hope they work for everyone. Here they are:

I still haven't figured out how you get to the cached stuff, but I love the links! I noticed it only goes to February 2006. I have also tried to get to the genetic testing thread, but couldn't find it. Found some other stuff, but not the one where everyone listed their genetic test results. I always found that interesting.

The cache is most likely going to disappear at some point....once the search engine re-indexes.

Hey Al,

Thanks for the trouble for making that graphic, but I do get that part. It did take me a little bit to figure out, though, and I see how it could be confusing.

The part I don't get is how to find the cached thread if you don't know the exact title of the thread. I tried searching for the "Genetic Testing Results" thread, and got some other stuff from Braintalk, but not that specific thread. If anyone remembers the exact title of that thread, please let me know!

Hi Claire,

That is the exact title. I found reference to it. But I'm not finding much right now either.

Back to searching...

I did find this tho. I hope you've brushed up on your Japanese  http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:pn55sfAszBMJ:honyaku.yahoofs.jp/url_result%3Feid%3DCR-EJ%26both%3DT%26url%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fbrain.has typastry.net%252Fforums%252Fshowthread.php%253Fp%2 53D560852+braintalk+karen149&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=2&client=safari
