He said the bright lesion on my MRI was old and probly related to Migraine, definetely not MS, then orders those tests. Said he was checking for hardening of arteries. From the Inet it talks about those test and stroke stuff. Is he just being careful?

Sounds to me like he's being "competent" and "thorough".
I just had the carotid ultrasound done as part of a clinical trial. No biggie.
BREATHE. And hang on tight. Hugs.

He does seem like a really good doc, though most times rush rush rush, but he did say he wants them asap. May be his style, cuz he said same thing about eye exam after putting me on topomax. I thought he was checking something else, but the eye doc who seems to know him, said it was the tompomax. Can cause pressure buildup? I forgot. But so soon? I mean I just started it at 25 mg less than 2 weeks before the eye exam. Forgot to ask about that. I guess I will know if my arteries are clear anyhows...I was a smoker so its good to know. Thank you for kind reply.

My experience is probably quite the exception but just had carotid ultrasound today and it hurt - still aches hours later! Don't know if my arteries are buried deep or what. My Cholesterol is good - have heart murmur although not considered serious. I've had other types of ultrasounds with no problems - no idea why the carotid was so miserable. Again, though, your experience will probably be unlike mine.
