YW, Cherie; I borrowed the idea from Annie :D.
Thank you, DocJohn for making "stickies". Wait a min., maybe it would be better stated to say: The Sticky posts you created are a welcome addition.

If this forum survives and goes to a moderator supported format...you are certainly the caliber of person that would seem to do justice to the role. Thanks again.

Awwwwe, that's sweet of you, Cherie. You just made my day - and in a most positive way :D.

Glad to be of service! But...it was an honest observation. I appreciate it when people are aware of other's needs and tend to them instead of criticizing or trying to enforce invisible rules. You're my hero today.

Cherie, and anyone else who may be reading: It's just that I tend to visit the various forums (not only for helping myself, yet also to educate myself about friends' and relatives' dx's and try understanding better). When I noticed no "Stickies" in most forums, well, it jumped out at me. I missed our Stickies :D.
That said: You're a sweetheart! You better watch what you say, though, or I'm gonna have a watermelon-sized ego! Hee hee... not really. But I do appreciate your kindness. We've all been through a lot!
Too, I'm hopeful - that by helping re-introduce some things that were once very familiar, such as our Stickies - we'll get the groooooooove rolling in a good direction :).

I just see what you've done (are doing) as community building and affirming. At the same time I see folks here fomenting dissent and enforcing rules that have not yet been established. After seeing that, you are a breath of fresh air.
I think most of us are here out of a need for information, support and care. What you have done in this small action is a big service.

I just wish I could do more, Cherie. Just something so that the sudden torn-out-from-under-our-feet feeling could just be a distant memory.
I'm am delighted that we've had a chance for our presence to intersect, and in a most positive way. It's always so eye-opening, too, when I also learn from others while just being meeee. That meeee person is a book-worm, so I lean toward looking for info and trying to absorb so much, and, for me, it's funnnn.
I'll do my best to help anyone... if it's looking for info. (that's accurate and by credible sources) or whatever. I suppose having been dx'd with Asperger's does have its advantages, ehh :D.
((( Hugs )))
Next thing, more Stickies :D. Stickies are our friends, too! Luv 'em!

I fully believe that no diagnosis is all bad. That there are gifts that we have not yet realized that this diagnosis will help to bring to the fore. Seems to have worked for you. Certainly helped me get to where I am today.
My diagnosis of MS led to another degree, a fairly extensive e-library, an International Certification in MS Nursing, speaking engagements, new acquaintences, travel, the ability to cope with things I never thought I'd make it through....
My goal is to foster that in others wherever I meet them. It is disappointing to come to a place...like this...brand new with tremendous possibilities...and see people being rude and accusatory and trying to get people to enforce rules that used to be there but are no longer. How do we love 'em through that?

Cherie,
Wow! You're one busy gal :). I admire you: Public speaking is no easy feat. I've done a lot of interviews (TV, radio and print) for work. Unless it's something that seems so urgent or important, I've "given it up" :). I find it is/was just so draining. I've not done any other type of public speaking; I prefer behind-the-scenes (research, writing and lending moral support).

Good idea! We'll have to get one going in MS forum. I've been on the road all day and am just settling in for a couple of week vacation at our "other place" in the mountains. Bobbi...you are busy! And much appreciated.

Vacation? Excellent! I'm preparing for mine - last trek of the season :(. I'm going to the shore for a week with my doggie :D. She loves the ocean. Her reservation was $75. LOL. She's well worth it, too! One of my first times away this Summer was to the Mountains (and I'll edit out these links later, since I don't want them picked up by search bots):
[ edited out links ]
The house was a vaca. rental I got for $89 per night; the manager was empathetic when I just couldn't handle the extremely rustic setting of a stone cabin (built in the early 1900s I, first, had reserved) :).
This is my poochlet, Cherie, and I wouldn't know what to do without her; she doesn't like the "strap" under her mouth, so I tuck it behind her ears :D:

Too, I don't know whether some of these links might be useful in the Abbreviations you're going to post for the MS Forum, yet feel free to incorporate any that you think might be helpful:

Great photos!!! Your poochie looks like she has a good bit of Springer Spaniel in her. We've had springers for years and Bessie (rescued 4 years ago) is 14 , black and white and acts like a puppy except for stairs and bladder control. sort of sounds like me!
The vacation place looks like it could be in PA or NY or even Northwest.

Please don't edit out your link until tomorrow, Cherie. It's just been a long day on my end and I want to see the site :). Also, I'll share more about my poochlet, my little heartstring :). I'm thinking, I am just wiped out right now, but... not forever :D.
Also, thank you, once again, DocJohn, for everything you have done. Whether you incorporate or expand boards at psychcentral, you've helped and that is what matters most :). You gave back to so many a feeling of feeling as if we "belong."
P.S.: Cherie, my doggie is a pure-bred (like whoopie-doo, except she could've been a show pup/dog since her grandmother and her father took Westminster as champs of their breed and her sis is a dual champ in the U.S. and Canada) American Brittany Spaniel. You were right about the Spaniel you were gleaning in her.
She didn't come home with me for show, though, but for companionship. I was interviewed for 3 hours before I could ever see the fuzzy little poochlets. And, at that, had to use a spray (on my shoes) when visiting to keep bacteria away from the doggies. That was sure a grilling interview, and the pups were the ones given the choice whether they "took" to certain people or not. Mine saw "lollipop" written all over me; she has allergies, asthma and pancreatitis; none of her 7 siblings have health issues. I didn't know, until after she got home. It was her labored breathing that alerted me and I called her puppy doctor, who cared for her Grandmother, Mother and Father. Ironically, her Mom's co-parent person is a CEO with a med. manufacturer.
The rental vaca. house is near Mt. Shasta; and, some of the images on the latter page are from Sisters, Oregon.
Good for you for adopting the rescue dogs. I wasn't aware of such when I wanted a pup. The architect of my home sent his people out looking for a doggie for me, and, then, others said: Stop it, don't do that; the doggie has to be matched to personality. They were right, as it turned out; during the interviewing I said that I wanted one who wouldn't mind kisses and being hugged. Mine's a hug-a-lot.
Now, it's bedtime and I'll visit the link you shared, too. Thank you.

Cherie, my doggie recently had a birthday. She celebrated with Nuggie Shooters (doggie food nuggets rolled in her canned, low-fat food) and MJ Shooters (Milk Juice -1% milkfat mixed with water - she likes bubbles) served in a shot glass. I knew I'd find a use for that glass! :D When a condo complex had its grand opening the week of her b-day, it placed huge balloons everywhere. I told her that it was done for her and she bounced all over the house :). It was so cute.
Now, what about your baby/doggie?

Miss Bessie was 10 years and 1 month old when we took her into rescue. She was so neurotic her owners had her at the veterinary psychiatrist and I received a 70 (seventy) page treatment plan for her. She's a product of divorce and staying at various family homes for a month or two at a time from the age of 2 on. We've had her just over 4 years. The longest she's ever been anywhere. She no longer trembles when we get into the car(I guess she knows she's not being given away again).
