How many people Use Invisible Mode?

Invisible mode allows you to browse the forums without appearing in the 'Currently Active Users' lists.

I was just curious because there are so many users/guests online but not 'visible'. I use invisible mode because I can't always get stopped for a conversation online. the arms are 'give out' after a brief browse.

i absoltely understand what you're saying. since i work from home now i can keep the internet on all the time. but...not everyone understands that i do work and have a 5 yr old.

just look for my green porch light. it means im home. :p

In your User CP at the top left, under Edit Options, the first box you can check is for "invisible mode". That means that when you're online, others can't "see" that you're here at the bottom of the page.

So when you're online, YOU will see an asterick (*) beside your name but that just means you're invisible. Others can't see you (or the asterick). If you're visible, you will see a round green circle somewhere around your name or in the posts you're making. That means you're visible. It turns red if you're invisible.

nobody pm's me. LOL! I get them in my mailbox, but that's not a big deal. It's the popups I can't have cuz I'm at work. And since I dont' get popups, it's not a big deal, so it doesn' tmatter if ppl know I'm online.
