Hi all,
I'm pretty tired now so I'll just say hi and write a few things. Our "lyme nightmare" began in 1987. Our then 9 year old daughter almost died from her neuro symptoms--more later. I also then totally crashed after she got better and better--I had sx but finally they were unbearable. Along with lyme I have many other TBD (tickborne diseases). Our other daughter became very ill the spring before she was to start college. My husband got very ill mixed in there with serious cardiac and the neurologic symptoms we all had. All have been on IV in many cases not covered by our health insurance which put us into astronomical debt. I was an OR RN but am disabled. About 4+ years ago another horror happened. My husband who has his MBA in marketing and had worked for several fortune 500 companies for 28 years in the plastics field was "downsized". In reality, the grandfather died and the smaller company closed. Despite 30+ interviews he did not get an offer. Soon we were out of Cobra and were desperate. My husband investigated an existing limousine company in NJ for 3 months with professionals. He invested $$$. Not 3 months into being a "partner" it became clear that this man is not someone with morals. Today, we are renting, had to sell our home, declared bankruptcy and have gone through all our life savings. We are not bringing in nearly enough $$ to survive. I am somewhat better but because I was dx SO late (1993) I am still sick and have had every treatment under the sun. Our drug plan is high--$35.00 max for many meds and I'm on a lot. Our daughters now 28 and 29 are being tx since they relapsed but are able to function but we worry so. Our 28 year old is getting married in Aug 2008 in Denver CO. I pray that I can go. Her fiance opened a restaurant there and that is where she has lived for a long time. They do their best to help us but they don't have a great deal of cash since the other one bought a house with help from her future mother-in-law and Krissy is trying to pay for their wedding with her fiance. I don't miss a beautiful home or much any "thing". However it is beyond stress when we can never have our rent ready on time or are able to pay other things. Our landlord helped sell our home so he is somewhat flexible thank God. Wow, I already talked much too long and the truth is, when I get around to more of this story almost all people are just shocked. So glad I found this group however my husband uses this computer all the time for business--I'd give anything to afford a laptop for him. I have no idea where the money is coming for me to afford my dress for the wedding. Our daughter is paying the airfare and accomodations. We've owned and sold 5 homes with job moves. We are really at the end of our rope. My husband is very bright and if somebody would just give him a chance at a job with health benefits he would jump at it and try to get away from his toxic partner. Thanks for letting me vent. Bless you all.
