I'm in the South West.......of Ohio..:p We have new snow this morning and the Temp is 13.

I like winter cold as opposed to summer heat, though. I'd like to visit Southern US, but wouldn't want to live there. I'm a Buckeye...frozen on the tree..

Whats the temp in Vegas????

Right now we are in the 50's.

Right after our wedding we went to Lake Navajo for a few days. I have the greatest pictures (the fires were going on around us). I'll start another thread with them, for some reason it wont let me post them on a reply.

I'm assuming you're by Lake Erie Punk? BRRRR! I was a Pittsburgher for 39 years. I've been in South Florida for 2 1/2 years. I don't care if I ever see another flake of snow in my life!

I understand. Truly I do:)

I'm in the South East... of New York! For winters, we're getting a mild one so far... fluries, ice and at most 3 inches of snow so far. Unusual for the area.

I'm not complaining about that. But... if it continues... we'll have droughts in the summer because the ground water didn't build during the winter.

I'd love to move. To a place that isn't too frigid in the winter, and to a place that doesn't know the meaning of humidity!!!;)

But... the winter is still young. I've seen blizzards in April so I put the shovel away until May:eek:

Take care and stay warm.
Cheers!

I am part of the small percentage of people with MS that are cold- intolerant. The heat does not bother me:confused: but the cold makes everything worse for me. Even if it goes down to 50 degrees here my symptoms are worse.:eek:

It is really humid and extremely hot in the summer. Every day in the summer the high is 90 and the low is 78! It might vary by a couple of degrees but that's it. I adjusted to this pretty quickly.

What is really funny is to see people walking around with hooded sweatshirts on when it's 80 degrees!:D:D:D

This is my first winter with MS and this cold weather really is kicking my ****. I was actually looking forward to winter last summer when the hot weather was keeping me inside in the air conditioning. Right now it is 13 degrees here with a wind chill of -3. Where is it 65 to 75 degrees year round?

Hey ya'll come here to the SW. Well, in the winters. Today it's in the low 60's and will go down to a chillin 30's tonight. The sun is shining today with only slight clouds. The humidity is so low that sometimes we get below freezing at night but no ice because of lack of moisture in the air.

*making room for my "frozen" friends to come visit.*

Yes! San Diego is the ideal. Inland is more humid - from my experience. But the closer to the ocean the less humid. Cost of living is high!

Well, at least you get snow. I figure if it is going to be cold I want it to be pretty. Plus the snow covers up the litter.

My BF and I are butting heads on where to move. I want to move northwest(Montana or Wyoming) he's from Rochester NY (the other mistake on the lake)and says he will absolutely not shovel snow half a year (I have yet to see him shovel snow in 6 years). He wants to move way south, fine by me but I won't leave the house for half the year and he can deal with everything.

I will win.

Ya'll need to move to Georgia! Not near Hotlanta...no no....come SOUTH!!! we have plenty of houses for sale! Summers can be beastly, but that's why we have air conditioners!! :D

Sure can't beat winter time down here! Always keep short sleeves out 12 months a year and at least one pair of shorts!!!

Swing on down to North 'by God' Carolina, PD. The Sand hills area here got a whopping 15... minutes of snow two days ago. One of the reasons my Dad loves this area. Really mild winters, but the summers can kill you.:o

We keep short sleeves available all year, too, Robin..But we wear 'em when it gets to be a sweltering 30 degrees (like maybe this weekend!)..After all the below zero temps and WAY below zero wind chills, 30 really does feel balmy..:Melting 2:

We have lived lots of places through the years.
IF we could afford it we would be in Southern California for the weather.
I like Nevada. We were there for several years. Near Reno.
We are now in Florida. I find it relatively nice. Awfully humid in the summer, however, I don't know anyone who lacks air conditioning.
I think if I could afford it, and had to stay in Florida, I would move to Key West. Beautiful. Hurricanes don't frighten me any more than earthquakes or tornados.
The key is to find someplace that you can be happy in.
One thing for sure, no matter where you move, you have to take yourself with you. Trite, but true. ;)

Yep, I'm pretty well sick up and fed with MI winters too. I'm in a holding pattern, but have chosen the greater Asheville, NC area as my final destination.

The cold and snow never bothered me a single bit when I could be out in it having fun and moving enough to stay warm. Nowadays, I have no love for this place, it's practically impossible to cross a parking lot when it's covered with snow, ice, chunks of re-frozen slush ridges, and people driving like tomorrow might not come.

Once I'm down there, if it's too hot in summer, I'll just go on third shift. But to be able to get out to go anywhere but home for most of the year is very enticing to me.

i have this feeling a little snow wouldn't bother me.. like a dusting now and then. no biggie.. but when you live in a place that on average gets around 120" of snow a winter.. just about any place with less snow seems like a better place to live.. lol

i have tossed around the idea of FL since i have family down there but i don't think i would ever be happy living so close to ppl.. i am sure FL has some rural areas but i have never seen them..

NV or AZ seem nice just have to take a road trip out there and see what looks good.. heck i may visit both states and say.. "wow this isn't for me at all, ill just stay put in PA" but ill never know unless i take a ride out there..

I was just thinking about Erie this morning. When I was younger my family had a trailer (camping) that we "parked" in Lake City. I remember the small towns around there called Fairview, Girard (sp). I spent many, many summers there. It was a really "rugged";) campground. Spiders everywhere in the restrooms, you had to climb up and down a mountain to get to and from the beach. I did get to be friends with a few locals though, which was great.

ahhh yes good old lake city... i know exactly what you are talking about having to climb a mountain to get to the lake.. i use to be in a band that had practice at the bass players house out there and they lived right on the edge of a cliff where if you had a death wish you could climb down the 50ft rocky drop to the lake.. what got me about the whole thing was.. there was a road leading right up to the drop and no sign or gate.. LOL not a good idea IMHO... but there are roads all over the place like that here... but as far as i know very few ppl have managed to drive off of them..
usually drunk if they did..

before anyone daydreams of living in tropical Belize, lemme warn ya, it's a whole different way of life here.

not many can hack it.

first, gringos are a very tiny minority, and you need to be very open-minded to different languages and cultures, and happily accept that you MIGHT be at the very bottom of the pile, both politically, and racially.

second, you have to learn to LOOK before you put your hands anywhere, and shake out shoes and towels before using them... 'cause of all the bugs.

there's more BUGS here, more variety and number, than ALL of the US and Canada combined.. so it's not for the faint of heart!

that said, I can live in a really nice house that we built with no permits and no inspections (except for electrical), and property taxes are less than $100 a year, for my 6 acres.

and I can eat exotic fresh fruit from my yard, and have clean water and air, and bright butterflies and tropical birds all around, and incredible Mayan ruins, and most of all, peace and quiet and privacy and that's sheer heaven to me.

and I can survive on SSDI here - and yeah, I mean survive pretty darn well... both my husband and me live on MY disability, which is only $700 a month, which would have me living in almost POVERTY in the US, but here, I'm able to have a tiny slice of paradise.

South here - Louisiana, but it's icky here too. It's been cold and raining. Temp hanging around 32/33 degrees. We have crazy weather here, one week it's cold and the next week it'll be in the 80's.
