Just need to share-a death of a beautiful young woman

My sister's niece passed away last night. She was 19 years old and had a very severe case of Marfan's. She wasn't expected to live when first born so she has been a miracle all her life in more ways than 1.

She had at least 2 open heart surgeries to make room in her tiny chest to make room for heart and numerous other procedures, surgeries and hospital stays.

Her mother passed away 2 years ago from ALS after living longer than what was ever expected also.

Last night Nicole was taken to the hospital having problems breathing, she refused any treatment...she'd had enough in her young life and was ready to rest.

I truly believe she and her mom have been reunited. May we all live life as bravely and with such fullness as these two beautiful women did in their short lives.

She was such an inspiration to her entire family. It makes it hard to complain about little things when her and her mom faced such a difficult life with such bravery, compassion and a smile on their faces.

I remember the last time I saw both of them alive was at my dad's funeral, Mindy in a wheelchair at the age of 38 and Mindy at the young age of 11 pushing her mom with smiles and hugs for all of us.

And AMN, I'm doing ok. It is hard on my niece, she was really close to her cousin. Hard to explain to a 15 year old why someone just wanted to be peaceful and not in pain.

Haven't decided if we are going to the funeral. I told my mom if she wanted to go we would make the trip up north (Cadillac).
