For those that don't know me that well....I'm a single mom and full time nursing student (but only until December :D).

My little monkey (The most fabulous 22 month old boy EVER) has discovered sarcasm. He dropped a toy and said, "Oh nice." I asked if he really thought that was nice and he tilted his head and told me, "Noooo Mamma." I laughed so hard I almost fell out of my chair. I'm way proud of him because of how incredibly smart he is but it makes me a little nervous at the same time, ya know what I mean?

On another note: I finished my first day of pediatric clinical. I think I'm going to really enjoy it. My instructor is fabulous!!! She even managed to get the OK for a couple of us to shadow in the ED. I really hope I get a chance to go down there for a day. I think I could learn alot.

My other scholastic happy is I (finally) got approved to tape my lectures. Apparently some student videoed his prof (who speaks with his hands), put it to music, and posted it on YouTube. After that, the school instituted a "No recording" policy and it was killing me. First semester I recorded everything and would listen to my lectures in my car whenever I drove. With a 50 minute commute each way I got ALOT of studying done, let me tell ya. Last semester I really struggled so I went down to the disabilities office and registered. Had to get my Neuro to fill out papers....but now I'm set. I just hope I do well on this first test (Monday).

That's all for now,. Besides, it's 1 am and my alarm monkey goes off at 6.

Nite all!!

Bless ya, you freakin' PICKLE

You rock and I don't need an emoticon

Your dedication to you and to your boy are unmatched. I bow down to anyone who raises a child in this day and age...and to go to school to boot...if there is ANY way I can help, I am here.

Glad to know that things are going good for you, girl.

And the monkey! We need some pictures of him! He sounds so darned cute!

How is it he knows sarcasm already? :icon_eek: Couldn't take after his Mom, could he?

Hey, we need an update on your love life. :heartthrob: You still dating that guy? C'mon, Pickles! We want the "rest of the story!"

Go ahead and spill your guts -- we won't tell anybody! :D

Good on you, Pickles! Nursing is a great career. You're going to love it. With people like you, we sure could use a lot more people in our profession.:)

BEST OF LUCK TO YOU,
Chris

Good deal, Shel! The no recording rule is kind of dumb, a video camera is a far cry from a little audio tape recorder. Geez, what next?

Sounds like little Larrbo is coming into his own, how cool! So, will you be concentrating on pediatric nursing?

P, my 2 year old granddaughter said, "hush, Nana" the other day when I dared interrupt her Little Einsteins.

I'm glad school is going well. Just wondering though what is ED? LOL, I know what it usually means but I'm thinking you meant ER? My niece works in a trauma center that has a peds department. She loves it but it breaks her heart a lot of days. Most rewarding when things go well.

I'm glad you get to record. I remember in school when I had to memorize a letter I recorded myself reading it and played it whenever I was in the car. I passed the test but now I can't even tell you what the letter was except it had to do with auditing and I thought it was stupid at the time to have to memorize because if you were ever going to use it you would pull a copy out.

And I agree with Twink, we want pics!

Awww, I love little ones. They are the only people in this world who can tell the truth and smile at the same time.

Good luck on your test Monday!

Good luck with your nursing school. I was an RN for almost 30 years before MS. It was a wonderful career. i loved every moment of it. I was able to work full time for 2 full years after dx. One of my problesm was that I let it define who I was instead of my home life define me. In other words I was an RN who also was a wife and Mom. But because of that I get a really nece SSD check instead of a much smaller one if I hadn't have pushed myself to much.

Thanks all for your encouragement and happies!! I rocked my test today. I like it when I start the semester with a good tesst score. Somehow it just seems to make everything run smoother.

Take care.

BTW - Since you asked for it...I love this one!!!
