No need to be shy, come on up here and sit a spell. I am soooo happy fer my new lil friend. Her name is Ashley, and she is in first grade. She has been having a lot of problems in school but that is now turning around fer her. Her mother cuts my BIL's hair, and she was so exasperated she was plum ready to chew nails and spit out bolts. She asked him if he knew anybody that could help her lil baby...he told her me. He must be crazy! lol

I finally agreed to help her with her reading/spelling skills, she is just the cutest lil ole bug!! lol We have been working together really hard for two weeks and she made 100 on her first test and 97 on the last one. I would do the Happy Birthday Dance fer the lil bug if I could, Haven't been able to do that one in awhile. lol

Sometimes we feel we can't do because no one believes in us, or we don't believe enough in ourselves. The first three days was the same question and answer: You are: Ashley, And you can: Read, And you can: Spell and don't you forget it!! I'm jest so proud of this lil ole sprout, she works hard and doesn't give up. Know why I'm so proud of her....?

She reminded me of no matter what, as long as one person believes and helps you believe in yourself, nothing is beyond reasonable reach. She and her mother knows I have MS and there will be days I might not can help her.
The point is, she is beginning to believe that she can do whether I am there or not. She was a lil dissapointed because she missed one word on her test...

We could learn quite a lot from Ashley if we just stop to think about the similarities rather than the differences. She is just 6 yrs old and has learned to work harder to achieve, I'm 6+yrs;) and there are days I do give in and give up...I think I am learning more from Ashley than she from me. I think we all could.

Now who wants some nice hot coffee and pastries...I got all kinds of drinks fer ya...ya know on Momma's porch nothing ever runs out and there is always what you want in the kitchen. Yep, here on the porch, we help each other and we believe you can do whatever you decide and will be there to catch ya if you fall. Not fail, but fall...the only way to fail is not to try.

Somebody go untie that Jmiller from that tree, heard him yellin long enough...or at least go feed him! Moose, I fixed some special cakes fer ya...tastes real fattening like, but no fat, carbs or cals in em, eat all yer want. They are your favorites too, so help yerself.

Why look who has showed up...I thought we left that scoundrel in the old neighborhood...everybody duck so he don't see us....oops. too late.lol

Momma, I just love reading your stories. They are very inspirational.

There are the very humorous ones too:ROTFLMAO: I can always picture myself sitting next to you as you are telling the story.

Thanks for your words of wisdom. :Thanx:

Hi Momma !
It is so nice to be here. I really love what you did with that flower bed next to the porch. How did you know that red geraniums were my favorite? And just how do you get them to grow and bloom in January?
Taking all the calories out of those rolls was a thoughtful touch,of course I'll have two.:partytime2:
***ahhhh....plumping up the pillows*******

My lil bug didn't know I already knew about the missed word...but I asked here anyway and she told me she got the hard ones and missed Open.

I said, still you did yer best and gave her the reward...a coca cola pocketbook and a resin momma feeding her lil one in a cradle. She worked hard today even though I think she's as tired as me.lol

She also told me today that she is reading more out loud in school...now how cool is that? She could be our next NASA scientist.:p

It is such a wonder to watch when the little ones finally understand that all those squiggles on paper mean something. My granddaughter has finally started to learn to read and all the books that we have been reading to her she is now enjoying herself. Thank you Momma for all you do ! You're wonderful !

Isn't it amazing how something so simple can mean so much! You've touched the life of another, and she'll never forget you (neither will we)!

hey Momma, I know how ya feel.

one of the greatest joys in my life is when an adorable little 7 year old neighbor girl comes over for piano lessons... lugging her electronic keyboard...

I may no longer be able to do arpeggios, but I can at least share my knowledge...

and she's helping me learn Español...

¿Cómo te va?
¿Qué pasa?
¿Qué tal?

Momma, you always inspire me!:)

You are giving a child the greatest gift she can get from anyone, time and love and learning.

Reading is something that stays with us for a lifetime and someday this little girl will tell the story of how you helped her to someone else, maybe even her own daughter.

Well I hate to break up your party, but I have been hiding in the woods forever, just waiting for a glimpse of hope to unleash my reign of devilish acts. So now I get to see how my rapid release Ex-Lax pills work. Hope you all enjoy your little snacks, because there's a big surprise awaiting you when you finish. He he he he. Oh yeah I forgot the duck taped too, I will have to make use of that. Let me think?

Well, Dan, jest sit right here in this big ole swing and tell me yer troubles. ain't nuthin like a swing to confide as ya ride. lol

Sorry, ya havin a bad day, but then guess without the bad ones we couldn't appreciate the good ones. No mind, I jest wish we didn't have to go through the bad ones. Sometimes having a bad day and there just doesn't seem a way to get around it no matter what...those are the ones ya have to just plow right on through like a Mule plowing dirt. lol Sho nuff ain't no easy thing either...I think I would rather be plowing behind that mule on some of those days.

Now, then, you just remember three things: Dignity, faith, humor....yessireee, those three things will get you through any situation. Of course I always say itn none of those work, well I smack people free of charge. lol

Here, now, just rest and know that Momma sending you a big ole hug just fer ya now!!
