I've been cooking and prepping for the last 4 hours straight. We're having a Chinese New Year Party tomorrow night and I'm making fortune cookies, but at this point - I'm too tired to think of 18 good fortunes. Help me out and give me some good fortunes that I can include in my cookies!

Warning, these are all tongue in cheek fortunes.

"Help! I'm being held captive in a Chinese fortune cookie factory!"

"Where ever you go, there you are."

"These Chinese fortune cookies have been recalled. Please return them to the place of business where you purchased them." (just kidding!)

"Eat At Joe's."

Erin, You are good.

I was going to say, leave them blank and make people wonder!

I copied these off a website:

Success means competition

An old pot is the best around the kitchen

One must be available, alert, active, and adaptable

If you have many best friends, you have no friends

Mountains can move, but not your character

Concern yourself about others more than yourself

Have fun! ;)

I have one that I carry around in my wallet, I think I got if from a fortune cookie 20 years ago. It is: You will always be surrounded by true friends.

Love that.

I always get the cookie with NO fortune in it. I'm beginning to think that somebody is trying to tell me something!

Compliments of Confucius....

Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without.

Do not impose upon others what you do not yourself desire.

Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.

Everything has beauty, but not everyon sees it.

DH's contribution was
"Sometimes the girls who have cooties are the ones you want to catch"
and
"If you're going to try to put a square peg in a round hole, use a really big hammer"

They were the ugliest fortune cookies ever, but they tasted good! Thanks for the fortune recommendations!

Hey, Gret, my family has an old tradition of adding the words, "in bed" to our fortunes. That gives J's contributions a whole new boost!;)

Greta, you made your own fortune cookies? From scratch? Is there a smiley for "I'm impressed?"

DH and I are still working on Blue and Gold Banquet (Scouts) for tomorrow night. (Chinese New Year theme).

The book said to (if you were trying to insert special fortunes) put a fortune cookie in the microwave for 20-30 sec., then it would be pliable enough to take out the old, put in the new.

We tried it. DH nuked it and pulled it open for me to pull out the strip of paper. His fingers got a little hot, but it's do-able.

So we're going to make a special cookie for each Cub who has earned badges and advancements to break open. I'm going to use some of the ideas people have posted here -- thanks!

And to thank all our leaders and helpers, I'm going to get some of the Chinese cardboard take-out containers and fill them with fortune cookies. I'll attach a paper that says, "We're very fortune-ate to have you in our Cub Pack."

I've said the "in bed" so long after reading fortunes I just automatically read them that way.

Everybody is looking at me laughing at my computer here at work.:D

Admit it, you're all rereading all the fortunes and adding *in bed* and dying laughing.

Okay maybe it's just me.

"None of us is as smart in bed as all of us."

I know I'm late but I love this one -- with money you can buy a house but not a home.

I hope you had fun!!

Sassy, that's right on the mark!

I got one once that said, "You would make a good lawyer."

Silly fortunes, what do they know anyways!

The day we got engaged, we had Chinese food. My fortune was "You will live happily ever after" DH's said, "you will make a good wife":ROTFLMAO:
