Hi, I'm on WC for neck strain injury I got while lifting patients. Come to find out they're closing the hospital where I work in 60 days(laying off 200 people). What happens now? also have MS and will be losing my LTD insurance, yikes!
Thanks, Diana

Might be best to consult /interview with some wc attys if you don't have one yet.
I take it your claim is accepted so far and you're getting checks?
are you sure it's only a neck strain?
We had some nurses here that got thoracic outlet syndrome {TOS} and/or brachial stretch injuries from lifting & catching patients.
You might want to read on out TOS forum just to be sure.
here's the TOS useful links thread-

You might contact or read on your state website - wc division - to find out how cases in this sort of situation are handled.
and is your treating dr one of your choice or assigned by the employer/wc carrier? {MCO}
you should be able to change to a dr of your choice
{check your state wc site or ask atty}
- or if your wc atty has a good referral.
You need a dr that is really on your side not the wc or employers side.

Hi Jo, yes the dr. I'm seeing is the one assigned by my employer(also works for the same hospital I temporarily work for) And now seems is trying to blame my symptoms on the MS(neck pain with tightness/burning on my head of all places) I will check my state info board(CA). I did try to conatact a WC atty before, but they seemed only interested if I was expecting a settlement of some sort. Trying to keep the stress down but it's getting a little challenging. Thanks for your responses...
