My wc MD has decided my symptoms are not work related. Had neck strain from patient care and after therapy I have been able to regain most of my range-of-motion. The problem is I continue to have neck stiffness, burning on both sides of the back of my head which radiates to the top of the head, and sometimes the muscles grip tightly and give a terrible headache. I never had these problems before the neck injury. MRIs of the neck and head are clear.

What should I do, I still can't work(physical therapist)Can he just kick me off wc? It's depressing to have the doc give up on me, and wc seems to rely soley on his opinion. Thanks for listening...

adding the link your other thread so info is together.
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread39103.html

you might look thru our useful sites thread-
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread1117.html

and skimming the posts made by others might give you some ideas.

Can your MS dr verify that these symptoms are new for you? and not part of your MS?
his office visit records should be able to verify what your sx were.

I think the wc attys do hope for a settlement because then they get their % of $$ in a lump sum.
But they will do cases that are not strictly settlement.

Thanks for the info Jo. MY neuro has confirmed that it's not due to the MS. I think I will see if I can get a 2nd opinion from a different wc doc.

Thanks again! Diana

Just wondering Diaba, have you checked out California Workers' Comp: How to Take Charge When You're Injured on the Job by Christopher Ball? It is really helpful. To read, its not quite as simple as the FOR DUMMIES or IDIOT'S GUIDE series but it is pretty good for folks like me that didn't know anything about the WC system before!! This:http://www.nolo.com/article.cfm/ObjectID/858B36BB-80C1-457B-9965650A58176C14/ is sort of a companion to the book on the publisher's site but that info is just REAL basic. The book is very thorough.
Hope that helps!!! Btw, where in Northern CA are you? I'm in San Francisco.

Hi thursday, thanks for the book info, they have it at my local library so I'll pick it up tomorrow. I'm up in Santa Rosa, but went to school a few years in S.F.

Take care, Diana

This sounds very similar to what I have been experiencing for the past year - except nothing has been diagnosed.
My symptoms started after an injury - my R. arm is still larger than the left - throbbing pain which travels up the forearm into shoulder right through to neck. Tingling and pins and needles in arm and hand - swelling and tightness in hand and arm a year later! R. side of face started to swell/droop shortly after injury - somedays worse than others. Been on Lyrica/Naproxen/Amotrypralene/pain killers..........
This has been depressing not to mention a year out of my life in pain and disfigurement..........very dissapointed - at a total loss as Dr's have not been able to figure out or diagnose - which can be positive once the pain and swelling have gone.
This is the first time I have come accross something that explained what I am going through - (TOS)Thanks!

Hmm might be an idea to look up Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy as well.. there is a RSD forum here on NT, I truly hope that is not what it is.. but it can save you some anguish by knowing what you have and WCB recognises RSD/CRPS here in Canada as an Occupational disease (though it not actualy a disease but comes from injurys).

What ever it is I wish you both the best and a speedy recovery.
