I have a recent new one that I just really want to share with everyone!

It's like a Magic Bullet (but we couldn't afford one of those) and it was on sale at Canadian Tire for $35 so we picked it up. It's wonderful!! Much more useful than the big $60 blender that I had.

Ds has already made himself a glass of homemade juice in it and dh just whipped himself up some salsa in about 5 minutes.

That little cup that you throw your food into and then invert onto the blades is so easy to clean out!!

I chopped up some chicken liver in about 30 seconds and added it to our spaghetti meat sauce the other day (trying to add more vit. A to our diets). It was so fast, the children never saw a thing! :D :D :D

:) I "bought the Bullet" off Amazon for pretty cheap (I get survey "reward" points that I cash in for certificates there, adding to the savings...I highly reccomend it if anyone gets the chance...the first year is boring but then they send you fun surveys and you start earning gift cards now and again)

I love it :) Dds get lots of smoothies (frozen bananas with juice or rice milk, and various fruits) Dh loves the floofy omellettes it makes. My blender has stayed hidden for several months now.

Cara will be interested in this thread - she was asking about the Bullet on the old BT. It looks soooo good on the infomercials.

I am! I still see The Bullet from time to time, and wonder about it!!

Kim, does your Bullet-like gadget have a brand name?

I am so happy to hear of someone who actually has The Bullet. Now, I might splurge, or ask for it for Christmas...getting to be that time now, isn't it....lol. I'm sure the Christmas decorations will be coming out any day.

I had to go look. :o

It's called "Party Blender". It's white and grey but has everything that the Bullet has including the juicing insert and the cups with screw on tops (of course we don't use them because of my issue with plastic).

That's my only gripe. I wish the containers were glass. But we don't store food in ours.

I really like the different sizes of cups though. Even though I blend a lot of stuff, we use the small cup the most, the big cup second-most and the blender pitcher the least. We haven't used the mugs at all though. It is nicer to clean out a cup rather than a great big blender pitcher every time.

Thats my only problem with "The Bullet" too...the cups are plastic and "feel" cheap. But that motor works very well, and the seperate blade attachment makes clean up so much easier than a regular blender!

Cara...check Amazon and ebay, there are "brand new, never used" ones available for relatively cheap. Mine came from a warehouse, the box had been damaged but the unit was fine and unused. (I double checked when I saw the box) I'm big on getting the best deal, LOL. I've also seen them at bed bath and beyiond, which sends out coupons if you get on their mailing list, and gift cards from certain credit cards.

I myself just recently purchased a Party Blender from Canadian Tire and I used it once and the motor part started sparking and smoking...I unplugged immediatelyu and have cleaned the parts I used and then packaged it back up to take back to Canadian Tire.

My question to you is, how long have you had your blender and how much have you used it? I am just wondering if the one I got was just a malfunctioning one.

I am going to bring it back and trade for another one and hope it works.

Our first one sparked and died... so we exchanged it. This second one seems to be okay... so far... knock on wood.

If it blows... I guess I'll have to fork out the money for the 'real thing'. :o

Ok....my second one smoked and died...so back it goes and I am getting my money back and will wait and save up the money and get the Magic Bullet.

RATS!! Thanks for letting me know. If my second one goes, I'm thinking it's not just a fluke.

Did you have your box still, when you returned it?

I heard on TV that the Food Channel will have a "gadgets and gizmos" show. I did not catch when and I could not find it on their website.

Would be fun to watch.

I use my blender for fruit smoothies. My favorite gadget is the food saver - seals food without air. Great for cheese...but I don't eat cheese now :( Still use it for items that go into the freezer.

My absolute fav kitchen item is a pan with sloping sides and small round handles on each side. I bought it is Sam's and I have not seen anything quite like it anywhere else. I will cry when this pan wears out. It cooks everything perfectly. Anne

Looks sorta like the braiser pan if that pan has gently sloping sides. Mine is 12inches.

Great link!

I read through the cookware...I had no idea copper bottom pans need to be re-tinned  Does anyone here actually have their re-tinned? I know mine gets a bit scraped up...esp after dh uses a fork to scrub off burnt applesauce...But somehow I thought as long as it was still steel looking, it was fine...

Definitely not a wok as the bottom surface is much larger and the sides are not as high.

Cara, Did you ever get a Bullet? I hate to say this but Consumer Reports did not like it. Said it was too small and get a blender instead.

Of course just because CR didn't like it, doesn't mean you won't love it.

Is the pan a saucier (http://www.amazon.com/s?search-alias=garden&field-keywords=saucier&lposid=u7-9786272-2,T1,1654)? Maybe having two "ear" handles instead of a long one? I've heard they're good because the whisk can get to all places versus a straight sided pan, the whisk can't really get into the part where the edge meets the bottom.

I need to get a double boiler. I make a lot of egg based custards and I'm always improvising a double boiler out of things that don't work all that well together.

Kitchen gadgets. Oh, I am driving my DH nuts in my new found love of cooking since being GF. (I cooked before but didn't love it.)

1. Kitchen Aid mixer - heavy duty big one
2. Family Grain mill for said mixer
3. Immersion blender
4. Blender
5. Convection Toaster oven from Hamilton Beach.
6. High quality measuring cups and spoons (easy to read with imprinted measures, not ink)

My name is Jen and I'm a blender-aholic....

Well I tried the Party Blender and pooched out 2 in a matter of a few days...so they went back(as I posted a few replies back....then I purchased the Ultimate Chopper and so far so good, the thing is great, but I find it's kind of small, and I hate it when the stuff spills over the top of the bowl part when blending.....However I have found the most awesome blender/chopper and am saving my money for it for the beginning of next year(probably around Feb or March). It's called the Oster Fusion (see it here http://www.tvdepot.com/fusion/ - also see here http://www.amazon.com/Oster-600-Watt-Blender-Processor-Attachment/dp/B000JKMITW/sr=8-1/qid=1164840510/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-2854456-7954502?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden ) It would do so much more, plus I could use it to blend up smoothies for the rest of us too, and also grate cheese and so much more. It's at a Canadian store here for $129 but on sale right now for $99. Going to get it this week.

Well, my 2nd Party Blender blew. Four between the two of us!! What a dud.

I do have a stick blender that does a great job in a wide-mouthed jar... plus I can just put a lid on the jar if there are leftovers... I think I'll stick with that for now.

I checked out that blender that you posted. It looks awesome!! I just don't want to put one more thing on my counter right now... esp. if I seem to be doing fine with the stick blender.
