Rats. Just got back from the orthopedist - he only sees feet and ankles. Turns out that the ligament I tore is a good part of the reason why my ankles are shot. I had originally thought it was on the top of my foot, but it turns out that it's on the lateral side. I now have to try to wrangle my insurance into 6 weeks of 3x/wk at a special foot and ankle PT with a lot of strength training involved. If I'm not more stable in 6 weeks, we have to start looking at surgery. That's just fabulous. If I need surgery, that means 6 weeks of inactivity just before we move to Italy. Ack. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can strengthen it enough.

I feel really stupid now for not seeing a doctor long before this. I'm such a knucklehead.

Aw, carp, Gret. That's no good, can you build it up on your own?

Tell you what, I'll give you my next 3 weeks of PT here in Utah, and I'll do the Italy move for you!!! *clears throat* O Sole Mio la-la-ti-da

Seriously tho, yeah, we keep thinking our bodies will go ahead and heal w/o seeing a doc. Sometimes they do. Sorry this isn't one of those times for you. :(

Hurry and get better!

PS You taking your doggies with you? Will they know how to speak to the Italian dogs? :p

Sorry to hear that, Gret! Hopefully, the PT will do the trick and surgery won't have to happen. Keep us posted and I'll be thinking really positive thoughts for ya.

But of course. Guess that means that even though they're 70+ pounds, they're now going to be "italian greyhounds":p
