they have no cure but they kill hope too
----------
The drug combines ubiquinone, the anti-oxidant portion of the coenzyme Q10 molecule, with a lipophilic triphenylphosphonium cation. The resulting agent is 1,000 times as potent as coenzyme Q10 in protecting cells in vitro from oxidative damage, Dr. Snow said.

However, patients receiving mitoquinone for one year showed the same level of increase in Parkinson's disease symptom scores as those receiving placebo.

Well, I was glad to see that they noted that the idea of oxidation being causal might be wrong. But, after allowing for dropouts and placebo, they had about fifty people. And they are specifying outcome on the UPDRS to a bloomin' one-hundredth??? I get real skeptical when precision outpaces the "equipment".

on another front ! do you mind informing us what dose of mucuna you are trying?

and this changes a little from day to day as I extinguish some lingering dyskinesia-

I find that 10 g plus a half sinemet cr plus one 4 mg requip starts the day well and within 30 min. That is a lot less than I would have expected. This dose is normally at 7 AM

My second is at 10 AM and I find that repeating the previous combo is too much. I am debating whether to skip the mucuna or maybe the requip here.

Third is at 1 PM. I am leaning toward dropping the 10 AM requip and having mucuna then when I am still home so that I can use the requip here when I am often away from home.

Fourth is at 4 PM. If I change as above, then I suspect that I will do a repeat of the 7 AM mix here.

Fifth and final is at 7 PM and I think I can get away with just the 10 g of mucuna.

I will try that schedule out over the next weekend.

Two things I have learned- One is that you don't need as much as you might think, at least if combining it with reduced regular meds. The other is that the stuff keeps very well in the freezer. I dug up a bag that had been there a while with a 2006 sell-by date and it was just fine.

I don't have time to read the article. But I thought in the old 2002 CoQ10 study they used brain scans to track progression.

I had high hopes for Mito Q, so I hope this tiny study is flawed. :(
