I wonder about the books I got from our funky little book store downtown. An amazing couple from here wrote them and are now deceased. But they published the books right here and you can't find them on the internet to my knowledge. They are amazing. God's Maze; The Mind Pretty amazing books.

i wonder if alffe has heard that WD40 is great bird deterant? hehe..not spray it on the birds, but on what they are trying to build a nest or just roost on. we use it to get rid of pigions that like to sit on rafters outside the club. they like to poop on people's heads. :eek: i will not name a certain somebody who deserved that. :D

see#34...it does work and is not a legend. scroll to the bottom where it shows the wd40 web site. we used it for other birds at the house. we had the red tile roof anf they loved to try and make nests under the bottom wavey part.

Bizi, I only had an indigo bunting one time drinking from the bird bath and he never returned. They are stunning! Course, so are you! :D

The gorgeous little indigo buntings eat the regular bird seed and sunflower seed. I buy the bags of bird seed labled "Finch Food" but it contains very little thistle. I've never bought anything except sunflower seed, peanuts and thistle before. Well, cracked corn for the turkeys and deer :o

I wonder how I've got a nest in the corner of my entry of my patio. Don't know what kind of bird it is, but when I pointed out the nest a month ago to the homeowner, he was going to take it down. I told him don't bother, she's sure to be back. And she is! Me of course, will do the normal laying down of stuffed blankets under her nest to insure if her babies tobble, they'll be ok. Or will they? I have about 12 inches of blankets under the nest on my patio. This is a great educational experience for my kiddos who went through this a couple years ago when we had our own home.

I wonder if nohope knows that I grew up in the Portland area (Hillsboro) and that I am over that way a lot! The clinical trial I am in is at St. Vincents in Cedar Hills! I don't miss the rain and the winters, but I do miss some things there!

I wonder if everyone knows that in Idaho Magpies are protected species and they are dirty,nasty, mean junk birds. But if you catch them robbing other birds nests or attacking other birds, you can shoot them. They are very annoying!

I wonder to tell you that we have Great Blue Herons in our pond. Such graceful birds! Also eagles, red tail hawks, and a great white owl!

I wonder if av8girl will let me know when her next trip out is and we'll have to meet! I worked in Hillsboro for several years, lived in Cornelius and Forest Grove too. St V has actually been rated the 4th top hospital in America, you will be well taken care of. My first child was born there in 1996 and I was kicked out after 21 hours of giving birth because there was a waiting list for my room. 60 babies born that day! However, a brand new mama with a screaming baby was not the most ideal situation. Still, whenever an emergency arises, that is the hospital we choose to go to.

I wonder if you know that this has been the longest winter here since I moved here in 1991? UGH! So sick of the snow and rain. It actually snowed a few days ago, April! I actually talked with someone recently that Portland even got snow in June once. Realistically, if you think about it there is only June, July and August that are really great times to be outdoors. In 1993, we had only 8 days of sunshine the whole summer. The rest of it was entirely overcast. I threatened my husband I was going to leave him and move back to Cali! Didn't work.

Oh, and I wonder if you remember the Blue Herons here too? Their diet is sometimes gophers! They toss them up in the air and then swallow them whole on their desent. Disgusting!
