View Full Version : RAMPS - Free if You pay shipping

I have two sets of ramps for free, so long as if you want them you are willing to pay shipping.
(1) The long ramps are 10' in length and are used normally for off-road vehicles. They do not fold. Thus this set of ramps will come in a single, long package. An image is shown below.
(2) The second set of ramps is 8'-long and folds to 2'-long. I have used these ramps of my scooter, but only once since I now have a lift on the back of my truck. Unlike the first set of ramps, this folding set has a flat surface and not closely-spaced bars/rungs as a surface. An image of this set of ramps is also shown below.
I took the images from a ramp wholesale website since I am too busy to go out and take photos of the ramps in the garage.
Just send me an e-mail or PM if you want either of, or both of the sets.

Sandy,
If my neighbor does not come by and pick-up my Suzuki 250 Quadrunner, I will give that away too. It just needs a starter ($35), although it can be started manually.

Wow, you are cleaning house! I prefer to give away my stuff when I don't need it anymore too.

My better half wants a cleaned garage, and since the Suzuki is just sitting in there and has not been used for a while, it is time to get rid of it.
Forunately, one of my clients purchased it for us to complete his project which was very large (1,280 acres), and so getting rid of it will not be a loss for us. I just hope that it can be of use to someone else.
If nobody wants it by the end of the week, I am going to donate it to the MS Society. They can sell it and keep the profits (2k I think).
I have a huge work bench that needs to go too. It was used my North American Aviation in the 1940's, and weight was not an issue for them. So getting rid of it will be a task since it is so massive.
Want a Suzuki, ramps and/or a BIG work bench?:)

Sandy,
The bench is 14' wide, 5' deep and 10' tall. It can be broken down into about 80 parts (minus the nuts & bolts).
Maybe I can get one of those C-17's here at March Air Force Base drop it off via parachute for you!:)

Tammy,
We need to find another way to get the ramps to you. UPS is charging twice the actual value of the ramps themselves (see image below). I will sort this out. It may take an extra day or so to resolve the shipping issue, but I can do it.
The obvious thing for me to do is to take the ramps to the UPS delivery hub myself (at Ontario Airport) and that should help since we have a UPS account.
I will let you know when the ramps are on the truck and headed to your place.

Tammy,
We do still have the small, folding ramps! It was the larger, ORV ramps that were sold.
The smaller ones (8' long) fold down to about 2'-long. They are in a box and ready to go out in the morning to your home.

Tammy & Craig,
Both sets of ramps were sent today.
The larger set was returned to us last night becuase the purchaser could not find a use for them.
We sent it via US Mail, which will take one week for delivery.
So, you will get two packages next week. I hope they work out well for you two.

I just spoke with my local Mail Boxes Etc. owner at the coffee shop and he said that the ramps were not picked up from his business on the 22nd because the big ones were too big for the mail truck, so they have scheduled them to be shipped on Tuesday.

You are a good man, Vic!
I'd help you out by taking that quadrunner off your hands but I would have to ride it from CA to ME because my truck is no longer roadworthy.
I could use one for an island transport vehicle to haul gear and people from the dock to the house. I have a nasty hill and I am trying to figure out how to set up some sort of mechanized mover right now. It's about a 60 degree incline and it gets harder every year! I think a zip line would be fun for the ride down but the more delicate flowers among the guests might take a powder after seeing how they get back DOWN the hill!:p
Worst part about owning a camp on an island...haul in...haul out.

The small set of ramps were salvaged (and they were just returned to me).:D I will put them in another box and send them out as soon as I can find a decent box. I think my neighbors just purchased a TV, and so I will see if they can fit in that box.

Fed Ex will take the salvaged ramps to you via ground transport. They will pick them up in the box (shown below) in the morning. The box is heavy.
I checked them out and they are in great shape, other than a few mini scratches (1" long). But, you should see how bad the larger ramps fared! LOL, they were flattened!
Let me know when the box arrives.

LOL !
Cindy, if you want to pick it up, it is sitting in the garage being used as a bookshelf (see below),.., and it really needs a good home!
Maybe you can pick it up and sell it on EBAY for $1,000 (which is the BlueBook value since it only has about 300 miles on it).
I have to admit that the Suzuki Quadrunner is not a good replacement for a scooter (it makes too much noise:(; can't ride it legally on a sidewalk :(<<<unless you want to play "Bowling for Pedestrians">>>; it requires that evil liquid we call gas.):(
But, then again, with all of those bad sides to using a Quadrunner, the fun that you can have knocking over gangbangers on the sidewalk could be worth the price!:D

Cindy,
I have already offered it to the NPS as well as the NMSS as a donation. Neither will take it. This is the exact same thing that happened when I gave away my boat & trailer last year.
My neighbor may just stop over tomorrow and I might be able to give it to him.

Cheryl,
One of my clients (KMT Racing) is picking it up this week so that he can drive around on his property in Temecula (image 1, below). He just created an off-road track for his kids (image 2, below) and now has to flatten it out and revegetate the area (because he did not get the appropriate permits - UGH). He will use the Suzuki to find a better place for a new practice track when his kids get back from the race in Germany.
Taking pictures of desert plants at this time may be tough, as we may melt! LOL. My coolest desert project site is averaging 112F, with almost no wind (NAF El Centro Superstition Mountain Bombing Range, image 3, below).
For now, I am going to just sit in the cool a/c and plan for the fall botanical surveys in El Centro. (Can you believe that anything grows there anyway? LOL.)
