Welcome to the Arthritis Forum! I was wondering if the members of this forum would be interested in having a regular checkin thread to keep in touch to check up on each other?

If you are, let's get one started. I have MS and would like to get to know the members of this forum.

My dad had Rheumatoid Arthritis and suffered with it most of his life. He had two knee replacements and a hip replacement surgery.

Hey there, I am an occasional ready with Psoriatic arthritis that has been really bad of late (had it for 15 years now)....joints are degenerating and started Methotrexate to try and stop that process of the disease. I also have severe migraines. seizures disorder, sinus infections and allergies. I have been an epilepsy advocate and educator for a few years and help teach people about that as well as how to get better care. I also have been teaching my son at home for the last 8 years because of his health issues. I am a volunteer youth leader and Bible teacher at church as well....

that is me in a nut shell (and i am pretty nutty too)

I'll start checking in too :)

I have Osteoarthritis (Spine). I've been doing REGULAR exercises lately on an exercise ball, plus lots of walking and my pain seems to have gotten somewhat better. I guess I'm learning to manage it better lately. I still have some med's to help, but I've greatly reduced them and feel pretty normal lately. No recent episodes of "MS" symptoms....so life is good....just very tired from working 70 hours a week.

Lets see if we can get a lot of people posting here....we CAN'T be alone!!

HUGS

Morning :D
It has been raining the past few days and my back just aches all the time. Ran out of celebrex...seems I notice it does help now that I am not taking it. I'm always haunted by the vioxx and worry that one day I'll have a bad heart if I take the celebrex. I guess that's why opaids are my first choice. Been around forever and the worst side-effect does not include death

My PT called to check on me, but working so many hours I never called him back. I was touched that he is thinking of me.

I should be doing school...not chatting here...but wanted to drop in and say hi to all and see how you were doing. I hate getting older

Have a good week all!!

Well Vicky, if you think it's going to fix it by itself, then keep ignoring it!!! LOL! Maybe if you called the ortho, made the appt, he can get you set up with PT??? Just a thought...

Hi everyone :)
Got my prescriptions filled this week. Feeling "normal" again. Wishing there were more folks on this board to connect with. I figure if we keep posting, we'll build this community up so that it will feel like home. If you are out there lurking...stop in and post...would love to meet you.

Best to all
J

Weather change? I know when my dad was alive, weather changes bothered his arthritis.

LOL! The weather hasn't changed since our unexpected snow fall in April...been cloudy and in the 50's all summer. We finally hit 70 this week, but still cloudy....no rain, just clouds. I know the sun is there...it's light almost 24 hours a day right now(LOL)...I just can't see it!! If the clouds would burn off, It would be in the 80's easy....Maybe July will be our month :D

Best,
J

I mopped yesterday and paid with pain. It angers me that I can't even do normal things such as this without suffering. Just a vent.

HI all. I am so trying to find a place for myself here. Kinda hard when you have so many issues. Chronic pain, yes but gee do I go to the arthritis or Fibro or Chronic pain lol. Hey maybe all three. Not to mention psychological issues.

I guess right now my arthritis is really reaching a point where for me it is what holds me back the most. Lower back, sacrum, had some days where my entire pelvis felt like it was on fire, a truly horrible sensation. Feet, ankles, hands, right knee compliments of an injury I got in 2006. Right shoulder because of same only back when I was about 19. Too bad I didn't know I would pay for throwing myself around when I was young. That's what I get for being a tomboy.

I don't have any pain meds except a couple low dose from an ortho back in Feb. very little effect and used only in an ER and down to the last few.

I finally called my new PM doc, whom I have only seen once, and told him that the new med, Nortriptyline, that we are trying me on for my fibro may not have kicked in yet but it will do nothing for the fact that I can barely move to go to the danged bathroom. I have floors that I cannot remember the last time they were mopped. I have learned to use the hose on the vacuum to sweep them . I hurt everyday, I cry everyday, all the things I love to do, most I have had to give up. I have a 7 yr old and I do not want his memories of his mother to be of her always hurting. He wrote me a scrip after the third degree about my past (yes I have a past, don't most of us). More than what I would have expected of him. I thanked him profusely, if he would have been standing in front of me I woulda crushed him with a hug, bad enough I sobbed on the phone. Now I think I may get that kitchen floor mopped this weekend. No push and crash, just be respectful of my limitations and enjoy the fact that I am going to get some relief for now.
