Chemar has explained why we've had to close Part One of the Sleepless thread, so here I am opening up Part Two.

That's OK. I started with a Strep throat which went to my chest. The infection is over now thank goodness but the fatigue that I'm left with is very debilitating. I 've been having to have naps every afternoon just to get through my days.

I had my hair done today so that made me feel a bit better. I had my blond tips put back in for the first time in around 6 months, and that's brought my moral up a bit, and I can assure you my moral could certainly do with a boost.

I hope you are able to get plenty of rest. It sure helped me heal faster!

You're right about our garden! It's full of Daffodils and Jonquils and there are Snowdrops, Camilias, Azalias and many other beautiful flowers in full bloom. We don't have a Magnolia tree but it seems that every second garden does....they are so beautiful at the moment and I'm thinking of collecting their fallen petals to make pot pouri.

Our lavender is starting to flower as well, and by the looks of things, the roses will be lovely again this year.

Ahhh you just lifted my spirits!!! I love Autumn.... it use to be my favorite season as a child. My dad told me then, one day... you will still enjoy the color of the leaves, the freshness of the air... but you will hate thinking about what comes next..WINTER! He was sooooo right! Now and for many many years, Spring has been my absolute favorite season. There is just nothing that can compare with the magic and wonder of those first blossoms after a long hard cold winter!

I must admit Spring has always been my favourite season, but I can certainly understand how so many love the mulitude of colors that come with Fall/Autumn.

I took photos of a leafy avenue while we were away, but the trees were bare of leaves. I can't help but imagine how beautiful that avenue will be in Autumn.

If I can think of it, I will take some photos of the leaves and post them on the forum. The trees aren't yet in full color, but they will be soon!
I know I am biased, but New Hampshire truly is a beautiful place to live!

OH!! speaking of, my sister Kelly... the one who I say is my soul twin... who
lives in Washington and couldn't make it to my dad's service... she IS coming
for a visit!!! She will be here Oct 11th. The trees should still be spectacular, she missed them greatly.

My DH and I both have October birthdays, and it's our 20th wedding anniversary this year as well. Quite a special year for us.

We are hoping to be able to travel back to the same city that we honeymooned, way back then. It's a beautiful city, and we've not been back in the past 20 years, so it would be a lovely 2nd honeymoon if we could.

Lynn and I have a special day in Oct too, the 13th. It is when we started
dating. We always celebrated that anniversary more than our wedding one!
It's still a special day, but now… has sadness mixed in.... I would be glad to

To be honest I don't miss it! I gave nursing 40 years of my life and I loved every minute of it, but I've done my bit. It's time for my life to slow down. I worked through illness, even broken bones, and I worked long hours, double shifts etc. I didn't get any thanks in the long run. Patients were often verbally and physically abusive....no....I don't miss it.

Yes, I did work in a hospital Nikki, and yes the chest infection has improved thank you Moi.

And the abuse wasn't necessarily from people who'd had operations. It's like they think we're they're personal punching bags...verbally and sometimes physically, and then people wonder why nurses leave the work force.

it is ALL I can do to convince him he has to get out of
bed. He LOVES to eat, so I bribe him with his fav foods

Other days, he will go for a small walk in the yard or
go on a small outing with the family. He still walks
pretty good!! His nurse was impressed really

Well, I guess I'm a bit like you. I take each day as it comes, and I never complain. There's always some-one worse off than me, so I put up and shut up.
To be honest....some days are OK, and some days are really horrid. Today was an OK day!

I have to go into hospital in about 10 days for my first check up after that big bowel cancer operation that I had last year.

I'm not worried about it. I know all will be well.

DH goes into hospital on the 24th. He's having both knees replaced at the same time.

BIG scary operation, and I have to hope that all will be well. I don't know anyone else who's had both done at the same time before.

For me.... it's just a colonoscopy! I've already seen the surgeon.

Thank you dear Nikki. It's sure gunna be a scary one for me. You know I was a Critical Care nurse, and I did look after many people who'd had knee replacements.... but never two at once.

I've had to contact the local MS society to arrange help for me while he's in hospital. I can't even have a shower on my own, so I'll have to get some-one in the house to make sure I'm OK... (I fell week before last)

I don't drive any more so I have to arrange transport to go see him at the hospital.

I can't shop by myself, I can't reach the clothes line, so I can't do the washing, I can't vaccuum........ the list goes on.

I could stay at my cousin's. I know they'd have me, but they don't do things the way I do!

If I wanted to go to the hospital to see my hubby in the morning.... they'd take all day to get round to it....and they wouldn't get there until the evening.

I know they mean well, but they've done it before.... and I will want to be there for him as much as I can.

I'll just stay at home and catch taxis so that I can be there when he needs me the most.

I'm trying to arrange some home help for myself so I can manage alone.

Yes! I've phoned them and they're having a home assessmant done for me to see what I need.

I'll be able to hire things like toilet seat raisers (so I can get off the toilet by my self), wheelchairs and stuff like that, for a small amount of $$$ per year.

I already have discounted taxi fares so I can travel anywhere at half price...(but that's still a bit exy), and they'll try to get some-one in to help with the shopping and housework while DH is in the hospital.

WHEW!!! very glad to hear it! Do they have anything there, like the meals on wheels here? They deliver meals to you, so you wouldn't have to worry so much about shopping and cooking with your already over full plate! That is great about the equipment!

I could arrange meals on wheels, but DH said he'll be cooking me some meals and putting them in the freezer before he goes into hospital.

He also said he'd do a big shop so I shouldn't need anything from the supermarket before he gets home.

We even decided that I'd get some of that long life milk so I won't have to go without my morning cup of tea.

I will manage!!!

Me? I'm Ok for now. I had my 2nd yearly mammogram 2 weeks ago, and I got a letter today to say that all was clear. That has to be good!

DH and I went to my monthly MS support group meeting today, then a few of us go for lunch and a glass of "whatever" later (I had a glass of white wine... yum!).... and that social interaction was nice!

i love my job actually.... its the higher upchucks i'm sick of LOL.... i work at a retirement home. I do activities with the independent residents, drive the assisted living ones to their dr appointments, i do alot of stuff with the alzheimers residents as well..... i've been there for 3 1/2 years. i do enjoy it, but the management...... well.... theres been alot of changes the past year, and it hasn't been for the best....I have a masters degree in education and taught school for 11 years, but i let my certification go.... i wanted to stay home with my kiddos when they were born. i could probably get recertified if i wanted to, but i dont think i want to go that route either.
i need to get my yearly squeeze done too....LOL.... my mom has cysts in her breasts so they like for me to get checked every year. one of my aunts has had breast cancer so its in the family..... so far i've not had any trouble at all... thats a good thing too :)

I do so understand how you can get sick of a job when management starts to cause problems. Gosh! I've been there so many times myself.

You may rememeber that I was a nurse before ill health forced my retirement, so I really do have a good idea about what you're going through.

It's good to know that you have a back up employment option should you decide to go back there later, but I can also understand your reluctance to go back there when it's not really what you want right now!

I do hope that things work out for you soon in your job field, and I'm so sorry that you still have other things that you need to sort out!

LOL...that's hilarious! I'll be anxious to see them. Cooper loves to go to Pet Smart. They used to have a lifesize statue of a sitting dalmation...all the dogs watered it so they got rid of it. :D He always makes friends there.

Hooper is the star when she goes there and she knows it :D Everyone says what beautiful eyes she has. I'll try to get them up after work. I haven't been feeling well with stomach cramps. I think it's one of my meds. I came home yesterday and had tea and cuddled with Hooper on the couch. Then I had another nightmare, the one I told you about, that's why I'm up so early.
