frank and i just watched the clip ... it was awesome ... i was born in 62 and frank 61 but we remember alot of the things mentioned due to our parents
We both got a kick out of it too!;)
That was awesome mrsd AND quite an eye opener. Wow, us Boomers are getting old.
I remember the gas wars in the early 70's. They didn't last long, but we went on a long family trip and the folk's still had some spare change left. Boy, those were the days.
Thanks for the nostalgic trip down memory lane.

:hissyfit: I wanna go baaaack!! I liked it back then.....
What was the name of that first song...the instrumental one? My sister played that song all the time and everytime I hear it I think of her. I'd love to download it into my I-Tunes.
from a Movie called A Summer Place.
It is by Percy Faith.
(Percy Faith was one of the back ups for the early Johnny Mathis albums!).

You're welcome! Nothing like a little "present" from cyberspace...You never know what you'll find online!
It is like a huge treasure hunt sometimes.
Oh Muwah?? What was that you were saying about us "oldies"?????

I had seen this before but I still enjoy it.
I was born in '56 so I got to grow up in the turbulent times of the '60s and early '70s. Sure brings back memories!

The years that you two were born are getting very close to the number of years that hubby and I have been alive! :(
Thank you for the tip down memory lane Mrsd. I just loved it.

When my daughter, Krista was a teen she called me older than dirt...I'm a year older than the Olhipie and she referred to him as dirt!!
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj281/olhipie/Silly%20Stuff/file004MA13797911-0007.gif
Road trip to my man meant using the thumb and heading to San Fran and then up the coast to Washington and then down through Yellowstone and the Tetons and home to Utah.
The Olhipie wanted me to ask you all if you knew the most used word back in the 60's and 70's....ear, said with a push...get it...
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj281/olhipie/Silly%20Stuff/Weed.gif
So why is he referred to as the Olhipie? http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj281/olhipie/Silly%20Stuff/36_12_171.gif

I think that not many of you remember when women couldn't get credit cards in their own name - only their husbands - my good friend almost had her phone turned off after her divorce because it wasn't supposed to be listed in a woman's name - stores sold house dresses - you couldn't go to church without being in your best Sunday clothes and you wore a hat out of respect - also needed gloves and a hat to go into the city - girls couldn't wear slacks to school - children were to be seen and not heard - that meant you kept your mouth shut in the doctor's office and out in public - girls didn't cross their legs in public - boys called girls not vice versa - crew cuts were in -
Elvis was the Devil and the Beatles were leading the country astray - the boys either went to college or Viet Nam - girls could be secretaries, nurses or as a last resort teachers - I was told in college that girls didn't go to college for an education only to find husbands - we had no business trying to be in the workplace - the men needed the jobs -
I do miss the 50's - life was sweet - turned sour towards the end of the 60's -
