Hi Richard! Welcome to our group!! It is the weekend and it is quiet but I know that you will get more replies..just hang tight! Our Darling Melody will drop in soon...she is a well of information and what she preeches....she practices!! She is a wonderful role model for any diabetic...a very wise lady indeed.
I am type 2 as well. I take metformin an the am and pm. I was on glyberide but my sugars kept dipping too low. I have to be honest I find the whole disease frustrating. I have battled my weight all my life and find it even more difficult to lose weight since being dx'd
I keep coming here and Melody and Shelley kick my butt once and a while and it helps. I think I will need to move in with Melody for a while to really get it!!!!!:DJust kidding Melody!!
Anyway, Welcome again Richard!! Glad that you are here!!

Hiya Sunrich
Welcome to our group! I do not yet have diabetes but am insulin resistant and glucose intolerant. I too am taking a low level of metformin and am working hard at changing eating habits....although I have been bad this week . Also trying to work in some exercise as well.
I have also added in some supplements to help. Do check out the threads in the Vitamin forum on Cinnamon capsules which help regulate sugar and R-lipoic or Alpha Lipoic acid which help with insulin sensitivity I think.
Nice to have you here and wish you the best.
Now where did Dorrie go  its time to kick her butt :p

Hi Richard:
Welcome to our FUN group.
It's not fun to have diabetes and give yourself injections, is it?
I know because I do this every morning. I used to be MUCH WORSE (when I weighed over 300 lbs)
I have no idea if you have to fight the weight or food issues because many diabetics found out they are diabetic because THEY LOST WEIGHT.
We each have our own hell to deal with.
Some deal better than others.
You have other stuff going on.
But if you are having problems controlling your diabetes, I do have a tip that I recently found out and I'm going to be posting a thread on it.
I'm calling it "Melody's tip on controlling her diabetes".
I'm going to put it up right now.
Take care,
Melody
