Does anybody know the difference? They sound quite similar to me. My husband has been diagnosed with both, depending on who you talk to.

Hi debm2,
I was hoping someone with a lot more knowledge would reply - but here is what ive worked out for myself and its pretty simplistic - and I could be wrong....
BPD is living in a false reality- putting a false version of you to the world and living that lie - and c-ptsd and ptsd is living with an event that happened that keeps re-occurring in flashbacks, nightmares etc -
dont know if that helped - there is a lot of info on the net but its confusing - suggest you ask his psych.

theres a thread about two up from this one - above a line - titled -
complex post traumatic chronic stress disorder C-PTCSd? by Sticky and it has a green arrow on it - in it it also talks about C-ptsd and Bpd and recommends some sites - hope it helps P7

Yes, thank you. This is exactly what I've been searching for to learn more. It helps me to understand and be more supportive of my husband.
