Parkinson's Action Network
2009 Research & Public Policy Forum
Washington D.C.

General Information

On March 15-17, 2009, the Parkinson's Action Network (PAN) will host the 2009 Research & Public Policy Forum in Washington, D.C.

The 2009 Forum will provide two days of advocacy training leading up to a final day of lobbying Members of Congress on Capitol Hill. Forum attendees will learn about PAN's 2009 legislative agenda, the issues important to the Parkinson's community, and see first-hand the power of advocacy.

The Forum provides a unique opportunity for participants to learn the latest scientific advances in Parkinson's disease research and interact with others in the Parkinson's community. The annual gathering of PAN advocates and leaders in the Parkinson's community connects new PAN advocates with those who are active in grassroots advocacy work year-round. All attendees will discover and hone advocacy skills that will highlight our unified message that we will not stop fighting for a cure.

Deadline for scholarships is swiftly approaching...January 31, 2009. Schlarships can pay registration, hotel and travel. There is NO obligation to become a PAN Coordinator or advocate, and belive me the job is not hard.

Almost all meals are included in the registraiton, including lunch on the Hill during Hill Day (in the cafeteria in the basement of the Congressional Building, usually).

If you can't or don't want to attend, I hope you have at least signed up to received Alerts and respond to them as they come into your email acccount.
