View Full Version : Protein consumption

I have noticed that dairy protein is much harder on me than meat protein. I'll have a terrible time with my symptoms after having milk, cheese, etc. in spite of the timing of my meds. Meat protein is difficult for me also, but to a much lesser degree. After eleven years post-dx I have greatly reduced my protein consumption, but I just recently noticed the difference in dairy protein vs. meat protein

Anyone else have this experience?

Thanks

I think it is because dairy is metabolized quicker than meat.

There is some question about the protein issue and some of us thrive on it. Milk can pose another problem since it is a major allergen. You might be running into that.

I don't have any problem with dairy but a burger-lookout! Forget about a piece of chicken unless I'm ready to go to bed cause that's where I'll be for a few hours.

I too have had protein issues as well. I had to cut out big sandwiches and big protein meals during the day and stick to a single big meal at night. The adjustment helped me, but I am losing weight again - down about 5 pounds from where I was during the summer.

I have problems whenever I eat anything around med time. So I try to time my meds an hour before meals or 2 hours after meals. But it's hard to do. (no weight loss, tho... darn)
