Hey docjohn, since we are parking ourselves here for good, can we get our own chat? I know ZS setup a temp one, but I don't know if he wants it on his server permanently.
just thought I'd ask.
here's ZS's chat link for now. hope you don't mind ZS!

Nope don't mind at all :)
I have decided to keep those chats up for as long as I have a site online. I still haven't decided if I am going to put the naughty word filter back and remove those smilies that could cause siezures. I need feedback from those that do decide to use the chat rooms about those decisions.

Hi Zs, I gave your link to he mito's in case BTchat was down, many of them can't cope with the flashing smilies, must admit I clear out of chat if any 'naughty words' start appearing

Gosh DocJohn, you are so kind to this bunch of loony toons:p
I have been thinking on something for Caregiver's of patients with Alzheimer's disease. My MIL is a Alz. patient. We had to place her after many years living with Mr. Jo and me. It is difficult to say the least to care for someone with Alz.
I learned much with about 12 members in the MGH/BT CHAT room. We cared for each other. We stayed together until the move to the "new forums" BrainTalk. Most of the patients have already passed on. Only 2 left, MIL and 1 other. We are still involved with MIL's care.
I would like to see something to to help these caregivers, just haven't come up with anything suitable.
Just some thoughts running thru this head that is aching. You have been so kind to care for all of us and I see things settling down to "normal".;)
Thank you for everything you have already done for us. Julia aka Jo

Curious, I just had a thought ((I Can still do that)) I hung up my chef's hat when I closed my Catering Shop.
Believe it or not, but the name of it was Creative Catering. Now wasn't John using Creative something along with the hasty/pastry thingy? Hhhhmmmm, just a thought, I had the names first!
I will climb up into the attic, just for you, this one last time. Want me to get the fountain while I am up there? You know, the one that usually has punch((spiked of course)) but you can put choccy in it and dip your fruit. I'll gather some figs for you, ok? ;) JJ

in general, someone who can tolerate the flash when the chat refreshes probably should be able to tolerate the blinking smilies, tho the combination may be too much for some people.
and this person should be taught to turn off animations, which are everywhere.
i went into a chatroom once. the refreshing triggered a long seizure and i figured out that i can't chat.
thanks for considering the problem that some of us have, you are definitely covering my back. or my eyes, i suppose, to be more accurate.
