Good evening or good morning depending where you live!

For a little while now I've been getting requests to re-open the Sleepless thread, so what better place to do that than right here in the new social thread?

In honor of the new forum....... this is the Koala signing in for any sleepy heads at SOS who just can't sleep, and would like some company to help shorten those long and lonely nights.

For all our new members.... welcome to Sleepless at SOS!

To members who've been to the thread before.....welcome back!

Hope to catch up with everyone soon.

Roast pork!

Spare a thought for our Lara tonight as she lives in an area that may get buffetted by a cyclone (hurricane) tonight. It's a biggie, and is already a category 5. It's called Cyclone Hamish and it looks like it will be packing a punch when it crosses.

My sister lives in an area expected to be in it's path, and Lara lives south of where it's expected to cross..... but she will still get some pretty bad weather from the rain and winds. It's travelling down the east coast of Oz, so it may even hit lower than expected.

Praying that Lara stays safe. :smileypray:

Will keep positive prayers for dear Lara...

Category 5???? Yikes...

hope she'll check in when she's safe....

I remember as a kid, we get typhoons...my mom would just throw a blanket against the glass doors and my brother and I and her would put chairs against it and hold it if it shook very badly. As kids, we thought it was fun plus we know there's be no school the next day.

There was never water the next day nor electricity. And I can remember the three of us going down to the local well and there would be a line rationing out water...

I don't know why, but the memory is actually kinda bitter sweet cause I remember I would always run into my friends and we'd end up chatting and playing never noticed the worries on the adults' faces...

Koala77
03-08-2009, 01:47 AM
Yep. It's a biggie.

We don't change our clocks until the end of the month and then we go back for Autumn. Winter is definitely on it's way, and I'm certainly not looking forward to the cold days and nights.

I have to go see to dinner now, but will be back later.

hi Anne,

my mind's just racing back and forth lately...

I guess I am just very anxious about the future...there are a lot of layoffs and business is slower than the tortoise...

I guess I'll now post it in the open but the grandkids are coming for good in a month and there's so much to do around the house...

but my pain levels have really risen and just got out of being sick and still not back to 100%...

sorry about the whine...been trying to keep it light but feel really anxious...guess I will have to start taking some kinda anti-anxiety meds..have been fighting them....*sigh...

how was dinner??

And also thinking about Lara...

Koala77
03-08-2009, 04:49 AM
Dinner was yum thank you, and congratulations about your news! How exciting!

That cyclone is scary as they were saying on the news that it has the potential to be almost as destructive as Katrina!

Lara is probably safe from the worst of it if it continues as predicted, but she's bound to suffer from strong winds and heavy rains just the same.

Prayers going up for Lara that her area is safe.

I am getting a bit hungry myself...LOL need to lose some weight though, my pants are getting tighter and tighter...

heckit no, are you kidding? This remains the ONLY country in the world that still uses the Empirical system. LOL but I know how to do the conversions.

I went from using metric to learning how to use the base 12's...still have problem doing that this day...:thud:

so, 10 kg is one stone...

how many kg is ONE pebble? LOL

Moi, sorry your pain is back so strongly

If I may put my 2 cents in, don't fight the anxiety meds. Not sure why I fought so long. I guess it makes me feel weak in character. But, perhaps it takes more strength to seek help? Hoping things improve for you:hug:

thanks nik...

I don't like to complain too much. Seeing so many have it worse than I do.

little things have been bugging me lately. I went deaf on my right ear for a few weeks then it came back. LOL

now I am having joint problems. I suspect it's from years of ticcing that's catching up with me. I know that I would have problems down the road wearing them out.

The other thing is I think I am growing spurs in my spine. My right hand gets numb at times and would have this burning feeling from time to time.

I know, I should go see the doctor but I know what they're going to say and right now, just don't have the time and really, the money...

I guess you're right about not fighting the meds...it's just that I have been on all sorts since I was 14 because of my TS and others that I finally got myself off of the meds and I kinda don't want to go back to taking meds....

it's always something...wow, sorry, I just wrote a book...

Sorry, I was lost in thought looking at your cloud picture. I really like it.

Sometimes, it helps to get a few things off your chest ((Moi)) takes some of the weight off your shoulders.

I can understand your views on medications. I guess I keep thinking, these meds are out there for a reason. If it could help lesson your load, help you ward off the beasts... perhaps they are worth it?

I am truly sorry to hear about your pain. When you are ready, emotionally and finacially, maybe a good neuro would be able to help you with your pain and the numbness. I take neurontin at high doses, it does help some. Not sure if it could help with your symptoms or not?

Pain is a horrible thing :(

((Anne)) how is your dear husband doing?

Koala77
03-08-2009, 05:19 AM
He's slowly improving Nikki. He still has a lot of pain in his legs, and they're still quite swollen which hinders his movement, but he goes back to the ortho specialist next week. Hopefully he'll have some answers for us. Also we've arranged to start an extra course of physio. Trouble is it all costs so very much.

But.... his eye sight is almost back to normal so we're really thankful for that.

Nik-key
03-08-2009, 05:22 AM
So very glad to hear about his eyesight. That had to be very frightening for him and you! eeek. I do hope they will be able to help him at his appointment. Is he able to move around better yet?

Koala77
03-08-2009, 05:24 AM
Yes thanx Nikki. He's managing inside the house without crutches now, and often goes out with only one crutch instead of two.

He's getting there, slowly.

sorry, my puter froze and I was too lazy to get the laptops...

nik, I am not anti-meds (well, some, I am)

but for me, I have been on so many for so long. It really took my soul away...

one of the reason is that a lot of them were anti-pyschotic drugs...

da wife really wants me to go see the doctor and I've been fighting her on it. LOL I really should go, I know, and I will...when things settle down a bit..I say that but when the kids come, who knows...

enough of my whining, how are you holding up?

Anne, glad DH is better...gosh, the cost of his rehab...(((BIG HUGS)))
but glad he is on the mends...

Koala77
03-08-2009, 05:28 AM
Yes, that and the fact that his sight has returned. That's what scared him the most, I think. We also had problems with his blood. His count got down to 61 when it should have been 140-150. It's up to 110 now, so he's also not quite so lethargic as he was.

Nik-key
03-08-2009, 05:32 AM
Great news Anne!!!

Moi, I didn't think you were anti- meds... I can't imagine how hard it must have been to be on medications from such an early age. I ***** about being on them since just 99.

Hmmmmm.... I would think you would have learned by now, the wife is always right? ;)

btw, nik,

being on meds since such early age is a bit tough. I think it slowed down my growth. I didn't hit puberty until I was about 18. Didn't get fully developed until I was in my mid 20's...

til I was almost in my late 20's, people would say to me over the phone: "can you repeat that, Ma'am?"

When I told them I am a dude, they were always shocked... LOL

Lara
03-24-2009, 05:13 AM
It's harder living on the Gold Coast because it's so close to the border. Must be hard working in one zone and living in the other. No drama up here too often although I sometimes forget and have phoned interstate business numbers and they're closed already.

Koala77
03-24-2009, 05:21 AM
It's good that they have most of that oil slick cleaned up, isn't it?

Sad about those other whales though. Poor things.

Lara
03-24-2009, 05:25 AM
Yes, our local beaches have had the signs taken down so people are using them again. Because of the weather though, lots of it has been buried unfortunately and it's toxic. They haven't found the 30 odd containers of chemicals that actually spilled into the ocean. I guess they're at the bottom or floating away somewhere. Shocking incident indeed!

Poor whales. They lose their way. :(

I love watching the humpbacks here swimming off the coast. One day when I have the dollars we're going to go out and take a closer look. :)

Koala77
03-24-2009, 05:27 AM
When we lived in Bundy we used to spend some weekends at Hervey Bay. Elle McPherson's sister Mimi, had a lovely boat that she used for whale watching tours from there. I never did go on one though.

Lara
03-24-2009, 05:30 AM
That's right. I remember she was involved with that.
The Steve Irwin "Whale One" goes out here from Maroochydore or Mooloolaba but I'd rather go up there to get a charter. We will one day.

Are you still there Barb? I was wondering how you were.

Also, has spring sprung yet where you live? I live in the southern most state of Australia, and Autumn has really arrived. Sometimes I regret moving back here from the warmer states, but our family is here, and you can't have everything, can you?

Koala77

LOL. We must have been typing at the same time.

About Skype..... I have it downloaded but I can't get it to work! I tried it a couple of years ago and it seemed to work then, but wouldn't you know it.... no-one else I knew had it installed.

Now I know lots of people with Skype, and it won't work any more for me.

I just can't seem to win. :(

barbo
04-04-2009, 02:00 AM
I'm a techniphobe and I Skype. I do it with a friend in Israel, with my youngest sister in Madison, Wisconsin and with her son in Chicago who has a brand new baby - my sister's first grandchild. I can't believe it's completely free - don't know how they manage that. It IS Spriing here but snow is predicted for Sunday and Monday. Shouldn't be much accumulation because the ground is already too warm. Bet your Autumns are beautiful - ours usually are, depending on how much rain we have.

Would I lose my Skype name if I did that Barb? I would hate to have to change to a different name after finding one that I quite liked.

You may remember that I have MS, well I made friends several years ago with a person in the UK with MS, also another who lived in California. Add them to all the wonderful people I've met through NeuroTalk, then it's a good reason to have a free phone system installed.

It's 2:15 and I'm waiting for my last post to show up. I just thought of something. Skype made a lot of changes to their system and for a while I couldn't use it. I finally backed all the way out and started fresh with a new password and now it's fine. You might try that. Goodnight.

Our posts do seem to be taking quite a while to show up tonight. It looks like you've signed out while I was waiting for your reply, so I'm sorry that I missed you, but I was here, waiting.

Thank you for keeping me company for a while and I hope you finally get some sleep. Goodnight Barbo.

Yes, Koala, I'd almost bet that you'd have to choose a new Skype name - I did. But then it beats not being able to use it at all.

Sorry I didn't see you GmaSue.

Maybe had you posted in the Sleepless at SOS thread I'd have seen you on line. That thread is easy to find up in the stickies in the SOS social thread, and although it's not necessary that you use it, it's the only SOS thread I check when I'm line at night.

Even so, I'm not around every single night, but if I am, that's the way to get a response from me.

I hope you sleep better tonight.

I merged GMAsue's thread into the Sleepless one. It didn't make sense to have a new thread started, since we have an ongoing one as a sticky.

I don't mind green food or drinks, but I cannot eat or drink anything blue! Blue is such an un-natural colour~-

Curious
04-09-2009, 12:07 AM
When my oldest turned 2, I made a big Cookie Monster cake. He was blue blue blue. So were all the mouths that ate it. :p

Yeah..blue food..something is just not natural.

Gatorade has a new drink G2. One of the flavors is blueberry pomagranit. It's bright blue. Turns your mouth blue.

Why they did that I don't know. Adults would buy it, because of the anti oxidents, but they don't because if the color. Oh Well..one way to get kids healthy I guess.

Oh...I do not like fake banana flavor. :D

Should I count sheeps until I fall asleep ?

Koala77
04-11-2009, 05:08 AM
LOL. Australia being one of the sheep countries and all that. There's an ad on TV right now for a new bed. The lady in the ad says the bed is so comfortable she no longer needs to count sheep to go to sleep.

Well, it's so sad. All the sheep come in crying because they were out of work, and the daddy sheep could no longer support their families.......

Too cute!

Hello Anne, I up still. Went to a football game tonight that my son played in. By the time I got home and put my honey to bed it was 11:30pm and I hadn't done any shopping for our Easter Supper. Just got back and unpacked all the eats and decided to relax here....uploading football pictures...you know Mom's...took a picture everytime he was on the field so I have a lot of editing to do.

Hope you are having a happy Easter day there in OZ....take care my dear!!

What's it like where you live?

It was dinner time here in Oz.

Alffe
05-05-2009, 05:06 AM
Hi Ann, I was over reading at Facebook. Fun to see my grandkids pictures there. Glad I came back...just have waaay too much on my plate and can't sleep for thinking about it.

Koala77
05-05-2009, 05:11 AM
That's not good.... you and me both I'm afraid. I too have things on my mind that have been worrying me. *sigh*

I'm glad you came on as I really wasn't looking forward to having no-one to talk to tonight.

Alffe
05-05-2009, 05:15 AM
A lot of it is just busy stuff! And all too close together. Our daughters are coming for the weekend and we are leaving early Monday morning for a week in NY...the day after we get home I have a meeting with the Prevention Coalition and have to make my "pitch" for a support group.
And somewhere in that following week, I agreed to make the appetizers for our grandsons graduation openhouse.

Koala77
05-05-2009, 05:17 AM

Alffe
05-05-2009, 05:21 AM
Is your cockatail still pouting? LOL

Koala77
05-05-2009, 05:22 AM
Lol. No, but he wouldn't interact with us for a full day after we got home. I think he was really cheesed off that we went and left him alone.

We really must buy a small cage for travelling so we can take him with us next time! :D

Alffe
05-05-2009, 05:25 AM
Our son Michael had one he named Baby...they are a lot of fun..we kept it for awhile after he died...lot of fun out of the cage..loved to perch on a glass and have a drink, also liked to shower in the sink when the water was on.

Koala77
05-05-2009, 05:27 AM
Have had no luck in training this one yet, but that's OK. He's a cutie anyway.

I do hope that he'll talk eventually. He hasn't yet, but we keep trying with him.

Alffe
05-05-2009, 05:30 AM
Baby wasn't a big talker..said a few things but he loved to be talked to..I can still see him cocking his head back and forth.

How is your husband doing healthwise? And how are you?

Koala77
05-05-2009, 05:33 AM
I'm doing OK thank you, but hubby's still having problems from his knee surgery. He's going to try acupuncture next week in an effort to try and ease the pain he's got. He's walking reasonably well, but he still has a lot of pain and swelling, ... 5 months later.

We expected some problems, but thought 3 months would be a reasonable time frame.

Alffe
05-05-2009, 05:38 AM
Has he tried those solonpas patches for the pain? Not sure it'd doing anything for the swelling. *grin....here I am telling an "old" nurse things. :D

Koala77
05-05-2009, 05:40 AM
Actually mrsD told me about those, but it seems we don't have them here in Australia! I've been and asked about them but the only similar thing we have here are Nurofen patches......(Ibrufen), and he can't use that medication.

The Salonpas ones sound like they'd be ideal.

Alffe
05-05-2009, 05:43 AM
She's the one who told me about them..they really help my lower back! (it's just arthritis but some days.....:o)

I'm trying to get my garden planted and my window boxes. I do believe that spring has finally arrived but after digging, raking..etc..my back "talks" to me.

Koala77
05-05-2009, 05:46 AM
Ah spring! Only 5 months to go and we too will be heading into spring! You know that means you'll be looking at winter again though, don't you? :D

We're at the beginning of autumn (fall) and we're already having frosty mornings here. I do hate winter. We don't get snow but it does get chilly.

I'm wishing my life away but I can't wait for winter to be over and the warmer weather be starting again.

Alffe
05-05-2009, 05:52 AM
Winter! Now that was cruel!:D This was the longest, coldest, snowyest winter we have had in ages. Everyone thought it would never end. I have reynalds in my fingers so I won't work outside until it's 60 degrees...that has just been this week.

Have you heard that President Obama is coming here to give the commencement address at Notre Dame University? Such controversy...I'm so tired of it.

Koala77
05-05-2009, 05:54 AM
I'm sorry..... Reynards is a cruel disease, and no I didn't know the President was coming your way. Also I wouldn't wish cold winters on anyone... I was just teasing.

I tend to stay away from political things, and to be honest the only thing I know about American politics, I learned here on NT.

What's the time where you are Alffe? Just interested....It's almost 8pm here in Eastern Oz.

Alffe
05-05-2009, 05:56 AM
It's almost 6:00 a.m. and the automatic coffee maker will click on in about 4 minutes....can't wait to smell it...will turn on some lights and begin for real. *grin

Koala77
05-05-2009, 05:59 AM
Gosh! 6am. I was one hour out with my guess. I thought 5am but I daresay it's 5 o'clock somewhere. :D

Mmmmm. I can smell that coffee from here. I gave our auto coffee percolater to my DD. It was a big one that I'd won and we'd never used. Sometimes I wish we'd kept that one.

Alffe
05-05-2009, 06:03 AM
I wish I could tell you what time zone I'm in but it is so confusing...we are 90 miles from Chicago and they are on a different time. And guess what...I can smell the coffee and see a tad of light outside. Thanks for keeping me company dear friend and don't forget to smell the roses today.

Koala77
05-05-2009, 06:06 AM
Thank you too! It was lovely to have some company.

FYI.... I live in on the same side of Oz as Lara, but her state doesn't have day light summer time, so we're an hour different in summer, otherwise we're the same time frames.

I wish you a lovely day today, and thank you for your kind wishes. Hopefully I'll sleep well.

Goodnight from me.

GOOD Morning

Koala77
05-05-2009, 06:13 AM
Not too bad thank you. Hubby and I had 5 days away recently at the beach and took advantage of the last of our warm weather. Winter's on the way here now and the days are getting cool.

05-05-2009, 06:13 AM
Hi Wren. I'm waiting for mine to finish. :(

BJ
05-05-2009, 06:14 AM
I know that must be terrible for you. We're all talking about Spring coming and you're heading into the doldrums of winter. Someday I'm going to get there. It's one of my lifelong dreams.

BJ
05-05-2009, 06:15 AM

Koala77
05-05-2009, 06:18 AM
I'd be proud to show you around BJ if you ever did get here. You just have to save, but I know how impossibble that is at the moment.

I've made so many friends in your country that I'd love to come visit them.

BJ
05-05-2009, 06:19 AM
I was supposed to go there several years ago. But things just didn't work out. I met a friend online and she lives in Tasmania.

Wren
05-05-2009, 06:20 AM
That's where I'm headed this morning ... church! LOL ..... I've been recruited to paint so I go in early to paint bathrooms, classrooms -- things like that before they are full of chilldren everyday.

Koala77
05-05-2009, 06:20 AM
I was supposed to go there several years ago. But things just didn't work out. I met a friend online and she lives in Tasmania.

ME too! That's where I am BJ. Where about does she live? Do you still keep in touch with her?

BJ
05-05-2009, 06:21 AM
That sounds like a wonderful think you're doing Wren. I love to paint. If it ever stops raining here I'm going to start painting inside. It's been raining for 5 days now.

Koala77
05-05-2009, 06:21 AM
Sounds like you're in for a busy day Wren. Satisfying, but busy.

BJ
05-05-2009, 06:22 AM
She lives in Hobart. No we've lost contact.:(

Koala77
05-05-2009, 06:25 AM
That's a shame, 'cos I could have phoned her for you. We used to live in Hobart, but are in a different city at the moment. Are heading there for a weekend though soon. It's a beautiful city!

Wren
05-05-2009, 06:25 AM
Australia - even Europe - sounds like a million miles to travel. I am in the middle of the USA. I wonder if I'll ever travel to either coast ~sigh~ . I want to ravel to the east coast,

BJ
05-05-2009, 06:26 AM
Thanks but I have her phone number. I actually called her once when she was having marital problems. It cost me like $85.00 for 20 minutes.

BJ
05-05-2009, 06:27 AM
You want to travel to the East Coast and I was to go to west. I really want to get to that Best Friends animal sanctuary in Utah this summer.

Wren
05-05-2009, 06:28 AM
But, speaking of travel ... lol ... I need to travel 2 miles to church to get to painting before the kids arrive. And I really should brush my teeth first !!
I hope I can talk to you tomorrow morning. :) :)

BJ
05-05-2009, 06:29 AM
Have a fun day Wren and don't work to hard

Koala77
05-05-2009, 06:30 AM
$85 BJ ???? Wow, that's terrible. I've been phoning a friend over in the USA and I get 5 minutes for $1:50 -$2:00.

I think $5 is the most I've ever paid for a call to the US.

Wren
05-05-2009, 06:30 AM
Much love and best wishes

Koala77
05-05-2009, 06:31 AM
Have a lovely day Wren. Drive safely, and thank you for dropping by.

BJ
05-05-2009, 06:32 AM
I know it's different. She called me and we talked for about 35 minutes and it only cost about $3.50. I almost fell through the floor when I got my phone bill.

Koala77
05-05-2009, 06:34 AM
I don't blame you. I'd have gone through the floor too!

I had no idea what the charges would be, so I actually phoned the phone company first and got a quote. I was pleasantly surprised.

How's your fur baby BJ?

BJ
05-05-2009, 06:36 AM
I'm determined to get there. It's been my dream for so long. I want to go to the barrier reef and the outback. Maybe we can meet up if I get there :D

BJ
05-05-2009, 06:38 AM
She's doing fine. She's actually right here next to me. She's definitely a lap dog.

Koala77
05-05-2009, 06:41 AM
We had German Shepherds and they were a bit big for lap dogs, but our cats made up for that. :D

The Barrier Reef, Kakadu National Park and the Outback are places not to be missed, but there's actully so much to see here, that it would be impossible to see it all. Even I have so much left that I haven't seen.

If you did get here, I'd certainly do my best to meet up with you. No need to worry about that, it goes without saying.

BJ
05-05-2009, 06:43 AM
I was actually planning on going there for a whole month. I get a month vacation and I thought in one month I could see it all. But I heard you have some of the deadliest spiders and snakes in the world.

Koala77
05-05-2009, 06:45 AM
A month would be good, but you still would not be able to see it all. Australia is such a very big country. It takes about 10 days to see Tasmania, and this is the smallest state.

You'd have to be extremely unlucky to come across any of those nasty snakes and spiders BJ.

Maybe if you were out in the desert without a guide, or wandering in the bush without proper shoes you might be at risk, but they're just as scared of us as we are of them, and we rarely ever see any of them at all.

You would not be at risk on a regular visit.

BJ

You have no idea how much I hate spiders. I have this bug vacuum and it sucks them in this tube and then I throw them back outside. She told me once that she actually sat on one of the most deadly ones. I forget the name of it though.

That sounds like a redback spider, and I really hate all spiders too. I'd much rather face a snake than a spider any day.

Then you should get one of these bug things I have. I don't remember the name of it but it works on batteries and it really works. But since your spiders are so big, they might not fit in there.

Koala77
05-05-2009, 06:57 AM
Our spiders are not big BJ!

The only big one is the Huntsman which is our version of the Tarantula, but they're not poisonous.

They don't have to be........I almost have a heart attack when ever I see one. I'm sure I'd drop dead if one ever got too close to me.

My coffee just beeped and I have to get ready for the day Kaola. Today's the day I have to travel all over and visit clients. I have to drive to MD and then head back this way. And it's raining and we're supposed to have t-storms. That's why I couldn't sleep. :(

It was nice chatting with you two. Thanks for keeping me company. Have a good evening Kaola

That explains it then :D

I have to go now too BJ. It was really great having this chat with you, as we've not had the opportunity before.

I look forward to that day when you finally get to come visit our beautiful country. I hope you have a lovely day, and I look forward to another chat one morning.

I kept checking back to see if you had returned to the thread, but obviously you didn't make it back tonight. I hope that means that you slept well and had no need for some-one to keep you company in the middle of the night. :)

totally didn't know this existed! thanks for the bump!

I'm not here every night Manda but if I am, I'm happy to keep you company if you're not able to sleep. If I'm not here there's often some-one else around who can't sleep either, and they'd probably be grateful to have some-one to talk to as well.

Please remember that anyone can use this thread; I don't have to be online. :)

I'm off to bed soon so have a lovely day everybody! :grouphug:

I can't promise I'll always be here, but I am around most nights. All you have to do to get my attention is post here in this thread! If I'm around you'll hear back from me within 10 or 15 minutes.

I hope that everyone sleeps well every single night and never needs my services, but if not, if you're sad or suffering......... I just might be here, so please check!

I'M A NEW MEMBER. I have to try to sleep tonight, as I have a doctor's appt tomorrow. Generally, I am an insomniac in full sail. It takes me a couple of days to fall asleep, and I worsen my depression by staying in bed during the day, because I am just getting to sleep when light dawns. My sleep patterns are deplorable in that I watch TV to fall asleep, which obviously doesn't work well, but it keeps the negative and scary thoughts from intruding by providing a distraction, which I cannot do with my mind alone. Before cataract surgery, I could read without glasses, and could turn on my side and go to sleep reading. Having to wear bifocals negates this tactic, as they dig into the pillow and need constant readjusting. Thank you for your contribution, Koala, and I hope to hear more from you. billie bluecat

Hello all of us sleepless ones...Anne and whoever else is up still.

I always say that a person should always go to sleep the same day they get up...oooo...that's kinda deep for a blonde...

I am getting sleepy finally...pain killa's finally kicked...but I'm enjoying the quite...hearing my Olhipie purring...our dog Lola jumped in bed to snuggle with him so cute!!!

Hope all is well in sleepy land....sprinkle the faerie dust...don't know if that really helps but my Dad would always say it so I believed it...

I do hope you finally get some sleep tonight, and that the new day is a better one for you.

Oh dear Koala !

It is not the first time you rescue me !!!

Do you have a close friend nearby who'll allow you to unburden your pain to them?

BlueMajo
08-03-2009, 01:08 AM
Yes, I talked to my best friend this afternoon for a while, she always listen to me and helps me if she can... :)

I have been crying like silly all day and now my head hurts as if I had a knife into it !!!

Koala77
08-03-2009, 01:14 AM
I'm not surprised your head hurts! I know mine does if something happens that makes me cry. It's sure not nice! :(

Did you have "words" with your parents Blue, or did they say they didn't want you, or is it because you just don't feel welcome?

The reason I ask is maybe if you're really down at the moment, then maybe you've misinterpretted something. It's unusual for a parent to not want their son or daughter with them, unless they want a break for some reason.

Have your parents been supportive during this recent stressful period that you've had? I ask because I'm wondering if they understand what you've been through. Are you able to talk to them.....do they allow you to talk throuugh your problems with them?

It's hard to understand why they might make you feel unwelcome. I have to hope that there's something else behind this, and not that they don't want you....like.....are they having problems of their own at the moment? That's another possibility, or maybe they simply feel inadequate to help you for some reason. Do you have any idea yourself why they would say something like this? Have they dropped hints before?

Sorry Blue. I'm just trying to put it all in perspective so that maybe between the two of us we can work out what brought this on.

I'm sorry that I wasn't any help, but if you're off to bed... then 'night Blue. I hope you get some sleep.

You know, I have always had this feeling of them not liking what i do...

Specially my father, who actually has more daughters and sons with another woman... he hates my acne, he hates that im fat, he hates that im a biologist and he hated my glasses, thanks to him i almost loose my vision... but, he doesnt say it directly you know ? he is like... you should do this... but I know in his inside, he dislikes everything I do... he never talks to me directly, but I have heard him more than once saying nasty things about me with my mom...

And she, dont know, I thought she was honest, but today I discovered she is not and, that she knows nothing about me...

I stay in my room when Im in a bad mood because I try to avoid fighting with them or to hurt them, and now, that's the problem... they said Im crazy (they have told me that ALL my life but at the same time refuse to take me to the hospital when Im in a crisis) because I stay in my room...

Is like everything I do, is wrong... :(

Koala77
08-03-2009, 01:41 AM
I certainly understand how hurt you must feel.

I find it hard to understand how a father could feel like that towards his daughter, whether it's his 1st or his 7th. It's awful to think that a parent would prefer one or more of his children to another, but we both know it happens. I wish it didn't ....but it does.

I really feel sad for you, knowing that you feel unloved at the moment, but it seems that communication has broken down between the three of you. Even if your parents both love you.... then they probably haven't shown you the outward signs of love that you obviously need at the moment.

OK Blue. Goodnight, and I hope you get some sleep.

Maybe tomorrow you could take your mother aside and talk to her about what you told me. Maybe she'll explain things to you a bit better if she knows how upset and unloved you feel. Nothing ventured, nothing gained and it certainly can't hurt to try.......

'night Blue.

Hi Koala!

I am starting to wind down thank heavens, but my bedroom is hot and my cat insists on snuggling. I can't explain the problem to her though Mama cats push their little ones away sometimes. Sooooo I've been watching Joan Rivers on QVC. Have a good day!

Koala77

Are you still there Barbo? Are you OK?

Sorry I'm a bit late getting back to you, but I was out in the garden....sorry! Even though it's still winter here in Oz, we had sunshine today. That being the case, hubby and I took the opportunity to get out in the garden for a while. We pulled heaps of weeds and swept up lots of fallen winter leaves. Hubby even dug over the vegetable patch so it would be ready for planting over the next few weeks.

He's already planted some portatoes and the first of them are up. We've got all the spring bubs emerging as well. There's daffodils and jonquils and even some that I call eggs & bacon.

We walked to the shop a little while back and one of my neighbours has snowdrops in their garden. I haven't seen snowdrops in years.

Gosh I love spring!

As a cat lover I understand about the cats and the heat....
And....I forgot to mention the movie that you were watching. My DH and I love to watch old movies, and Joan Rivers is a favourite of my hubby's. He really loves all old movies, no matter who stars in them. At present he's watching an old 1954 movie with Burt Lancaster in it.
