My young brother is in need of a lightweight wheelchair with leg rests or similiar. I am his source of transportation and I can no longer lift the heavy foldable manual chair into the car due to a permanent back injury I have. We are in NE PA.
It would need to be something suitable for an adult male, 180 pounds and about 5'11". He has a movement disorder and is no longer able to walk or stand independently. He has a walker, but is only good for about 20 feet with it.
His insurance will not purchase a lightweight chair, he receives SSD but medicare wont start for another year for him. We have been checking the thrift stores but never manage to find anything suitable. Please contact me if you have anything not used anymore.
