Default Roll Call for Thursday

OK friends, I, for the life of me, cannot see Roll Call for today. So if it is on here and I just have missed it, this message goes with today's Roll Call. I'm in kind of a "dither" today because the woman who was my best friend from kindergarten through 1 year of college is coming to see me this afternoon. We had not spoken or seen each other for 23 years (just went our separate ways, I moved far away) and I found her on "Classmates". Now we are in contact often but haven't seen each other for 5 years, all the time I was taking meds for my new medical conditions and gaining weight.

Now you need to understand that in high school, I was 5' 7" and 105-110 lbs. She was of a normal weight. I was called Lucy and she was my Ethel because of the messes we got into. (Fun Fun)

So I'm so embarrassed. She is running marathons and I am taking meds.

Nancy, your friend is coming to see her friend and is wanting to visit because of your friendship, your personality, and some very GOOD old memories. She is NOT going to worry about what size you are or the fact that you can't run a marathon. Relax and enjoy your visit, you will be the same person you were then...only a little fluffier. LOL Hugs, GC

I second that GC! Jeesh, I didn't know you were THAT wise! I mean, I knew you were smart and all, (you must be---look who you hang around with! ) but that was a REALLY great answer to BS! I totally agree! Enjoy your visit! Laugh at old memories, have a blast, and forget the rest!

My lunch guest just left. It went well. I served home made vegetable beef soup that I had in the freezer, hoagies, and fresh pineapple, grapes and strawberries. That mixed with solid gold oldies playing in the background, great conversation, and a ton of laughs made for a great afternoon.

Now it's almost time to get Hailey. Last time she was here we made a birthday card for Laura. She's 29 today. Lord do I remember 29 years ago today....... and glad THAT's over! I printed out a pic of the two of them and managed to get some glitter on the card among gobs of glue. I let her do it all, in a 3 yr olds way. hehehe I had her look through a magazine to find a pic of something she would buy mommy if she could (a candle) and I cut it out. She glued it (sideways) on the inside on the card. I wrote some tear jerking stuff and then had her sign it. She can make the "H" alone, but the rest I wrote on a piece of paper and she tried to follow---not real successfully. She's SO proud of her "birdy present that's a seacurt mommy, so I can't gibbit to you yet."

Hope everyone's having a good day.
Hugs,
LS

Hi gang, man we are late today with roll call huh. I went to see the chiro this morning for this nagging pain. I am having aches and pains all on my right side. My knee and shin is just aching.

Anyhoo, I wanted to share with you this new drink that I found. It is called Fuze and it is a diet drink and it has only 10 calories per bottle. I can't drink any of the diet drinks because of the aspartame (I think) and I found this at Costco and they are real good. They also have different vitamins in them. There is a regular Fuze that is not low calorie so don't get them confused
So if I am not drinking water I am having one of them for a treat.

Well I am trying to be good and not attack the doritos in the cupboard. Actually I can refrain from eating those because I buy them for the kids and I feel guilty if I eat them. Guilt--it's a good thing (said like Martha Stewart ha ha) ...Sue

Nancy I hope you have a wonderful visit with your school friend. I am sure you will see she is there to see you because she misses the times you both shared and wants to make new memories from old ones! Have a great day!

Nancy,
How lovely! My husband found an old high school friend on that site and they started corresponding again after 13 years and finally met up this past summer. I was able to meet his wife and little son and we had so much fun. We've gained new friends, and his old friend is now balding and not the athlete he apparently was when they were younger.

But, once they saw each other it was as if they had just seen one another yesterday. They speak at least three times a week by phone now, and are on the computer daily.

Have a terrific time together. Good for you.

Chris

Default Thanks everyone...

...for your very kind words. You were right, we had a lovely visit, lots of laughs and even with my meds, we agreed that my long term memory is better than hers.
She brought pictures of the class reunions over the years, the ones I missed, and we had good laughs over those as well. But now I'm really tired and ready for bed. Bless you all, people.
