I'm having a bad day today. I am just really needing a vacation or something. I had a 3 day weekend and felt so much better, but day three back into the work / kids grind and I'm worn out and overwhelmed. The work on my desk is piling up because it is the busy time of year, but I am also at my busiest with the kids, so I am at my worst at the busiest time. Argh!

That's the most frustrating and anxiety-producing feeling, Holly: I can't do both A and B, so I have to choose...but I HAVE to do A and I HAVE to do B. That feeling found me in tears after work many, many times.

Friends tried to help me sort it out, but mostly their advice started with "Why don't you just....". Maybe some of their ideas were good ones. I was too physically and emotionally exhausted to sort through it all.

Medically, I should have retired a year or more before I did. Financially (and emotionally), I just couldn't do it. Two friends in particular kept saying "You really should just retire!" One of them is very comfortable financially--works part-time because she's bored--and the other doesn't work, is deep in debt, and willing to let her family support her. I kept thinking, "What do YOU know about it?"

God bless all of you who are still able to work, and ESPECIALLY those of you who aren't able to but are anyway. Wish I had some real advice for you.

Hi Everyone!

Holly - Hang in there! It is hard to raise kids and deal with MS. But, be thankful that you can still work. For me it was not an option. I miss working and being out with people more. I do work a little from home doing transcription work but that is only a few hours a week except for my busy time.

Not up to much today. Straightened up a bit and dusted and now I'm ready for a nap. I have some more reorganizing to do but will wait until after nap time.

Have a great day Everyone!

tkrik--I totally know what you're saying, but I must say, those last few months I was working, I would have smacked anybody who told me to be thankful I could work (no, I don't want to smack you!) I felt that it was akin to telling Sisyphus to be thankful he could roll the boulder up the hill!

Some days I'm thankful for what I can do, and some days I'm working on being thankful. I know I usually could use an attitude adjustment. Is there such a thing as being "begrudgingly thankful"? If so, that's me some days.

Hugs to all! I know... bad me... I've been MIA lately. Just got so much on my plate right now. The biggest being a teenager dragging his feet about school work. B2Y, you mentioned Sisyphus and his rock... yep it's like pushing a boulder up the hill with this one. He gives no trouble about anything else, he is just discouraged with geometry and chemistry..oh and Spanish. So my "spoons" go quickly during the evenings trying to help and encourage him.

Top all that off with Spring cleaning, gardening and Family on Facebook... I have no "spoons" left by the evening. Yet here I am with insomnia, which means a 3 to 4 hour nap after everyone leaves the house in the morning. Thankfully, it's not garbage day so it will be quiet!

Hi Pam! I've been wondering where you were but knew Spring is your "busy season" with the garden and things. I'm glad you checked in, though. Hope your DS can find his enthusiasm with school work again.

It's chilly here this morning and I had to turn my furnace on again to get the chill off the air in the house. The cats were burrowing under the bedspreads trying to keep warm!

Busy time at school; 2 1/2 weeks of classes left and then finals. Leaving in a few minutes for 6th month checkup with pcp. Feeling pretty tired!

Hi all...sunny here...

Holly Not going to tell you what to do, or not...just know that my prayers are going out for you for some extra energy and will to get through all of this...

Finally got my tummy issues settled down...I'm kind of afraid to eat anything except applesauce, bananas and toast, and the occasional chicken noodle soup. At least my energy level is right again and I have more energy. And the pup was throwing up too...he's better now too, so I don't have to run after him with a roll of paper towels

Took MIL to the internist to discuss why she went to the hospital a couple of weeks ago. The doc feels that her blood pressure dropped and her heart couldn't pump enough to keep her from fainting. She is still fatigued (although she denied this to the doc, but told me afterward she's been napping and resting a lot more...).

Then I went to a pharmacist to go over my list of meds to see if any had caused the bradycardia last month. There was only the muscle relaxant that might have brought it down a notch, but not enough to drop it as low as it got. Still no answers

DH and I are going to DD's for the weekend so he can help SIL install a sprinkler system in their yards. They have a huge lot, and they both get tired of hauling their sprinklers around all day.

Well, hope everyone has a good weekend. Stay safe, warm and dry!

Just back from the doctors. She told me to just split my cholesterol med and take 1/2 since my cholesterol numbers are so good. Glucose levels were also good. Did more blood work to check iron, vitamin B12 and something else as my hemoglobin numbers from blood count were a little low. She said that could be making me more tired.

Froze one spot on side of my face that was annoying me and numbed, cut, and cauterized another mole that was sticking out on my stomach and bothering me. She said she did not know if insurance would cover since they were not pre cancerous and she could first apply for authorization. But I told her to go ahead and take them off because I wanted them off even if insurance did not cover.

She told me to take Tylenol for arthritis in knees and that studies show it works better than advil on arthritis. She told me to use something called biofreeze on my knees (ointment) when I am driving or they are really bothering me. I just discovered they do not carry it at drugstores , but they do have it at for sell at physical therapy clinic. She suggested I get one of those machines (like pedaling a bike) that I could use while sitting in a regular chair. I have seen them in catalogs. She said that is the best exercise if you are having knee problems. She also suggested I get the shingles vaccine. I want to talk to my neuro about that before I make a decision.

So that was my exciting appointment. I know you were all eagerly waiting to hear about it.

Hi Everyone!

Pam - I don't miss those days at all. They used to just wear me out. I'm glad you checked in.

Barb - Glad you checked in as well. I was hoping and praying you weren't in a flare. I have heard of Biofreeze but have never tried it. Apparently it works well. You'll have to report back to us on how well it works.

Debbie - I hope you have a good time at DD's. That sounds like fun. Also glad everyone's tummies are feeling better.

Hi everyone else thinking of you as well.

I've been dealing with computer issues all day today. I think I finally got everything straightened out. Thank goodness no work came in today. That would not have been good. Keeping my fingers crossed all will stay fixed.

I have no big plans for the weekend. Well, so far. Tonight, I'm just going to lounge and either read or watch some TV. Friday nights are awful for TV. There really isn't much on that interests me. I may just watch Body of Proof and/or Castle online since I missed both of them this week.

Have a good night everyone!
