Exclamation Bears in the backyard, news station

I always have to watch with the cats, bears outside. But tuning into the news tonight the weatherman ran in from the back yard broadcast with 4 bears out there.

Wow, how close they are.

Di,

Are you getting snow?
That is a gorgeous garden! Some one spends a lot of time on landscaping.

Those bears were so cute! I've been following a family of bears in Minnesota

They are great to watch, the backyard at the studio has a landscaper, Rob Ray, he was on last week cleaning from the winter and bringing in the new plants for spring. I think the bird feeders they brought in tempted the bears.

Last Fall, they had a Raccoon came into the news room as someone opened the back door to the yard, that was a hoot to watch to. One brave gal put a trash can over the animal. lol.

With all the building up in our area the animals do not have enought food and woods to stay out of site as they use to.
A few years ago when I saw garbage bags in the driveway it did not hit me how they got there, I thought it was wind.

When I walked around the side of the house to get my cat Tigger back in, I yelped as he and black bear were eating from another bag. The cat was at chicken wing bones in the bottom, the bear had boxed of stale Captain Crunch tearing his claws down the box to shred and get the goodies.
Too close for me. The deer I see nearly every day, on the side hill coming from our creek up into the woods on the mountain.

I am so made at the ground hogs and moles, my yard is a mess from them. It is like crater city out there, I walk to my sons and down to my ankle in a hole. I thought of moth balls, the hose and even taking the shot gun out.

Last year the big fat one ate off my garden. I think half what we plant the animals feed from.

It sounds so wonderful to have all those li'l critters around. Ok, some are pretty BIG critters!!! D'ya ever get moose?

But yeah, i can see where the ones that turn your garden into swiss cheese after eating your flowers can get rrrrrrrrrrreaall ollllddddd after a while. Sigh.

thanks for sharing though. i enjoyed hearing about all the critters. here we only have birds (a few with lovely song! ) and the odd squirrel. I swear the squirrels are after extinction though, because almost every time i catch sight of of them - often a pair - it's as they race across the road right in front of a Mack truck or equivalent "mecha-beast." Never seen one hit, nor evidence of it, but my heart jumps into my mouth when i see them do that! Crazy li'l things!
