Oh, MY, PURPLE!
Dear Gerry-
When I write regarding the travesty of the two party system through which we supposedly enjoy freedom, I spread in large letters the perception through which I have seen "career politics" of two parties whose agendas sway with the flag to attempt pleasing enough of an electorate to collect votes perpetuating incumbence. Incumbence. How I tire of media trumpeting red and blue states when in every single state there are many whose votes are not thus reflected, for they either supported some minor party candidate or the lesser of the two great evils, while the greater runs full on to trumpet a MANDATE OF THE PEOPLE. Rubbish. Refuse. Litter. Trash.
I see this nation bent on self impoverishment while the two great evils from which most select speak of budgetary responsibility. How can either use the word responsibility when we cast our pearls before swine in the cradle of civilization? How can we continue to WAR without end? Economically, war destroys the greater proponent, since as we learn time and again of frustration when a border is met without resolution of the greater problem [the eastern frontier in Europe during WWII while Stalin murdered millions more at home than Hitler, yet Hitler the murder is remembered as just what he was while Stalin is seen merely as a "communist" dictator; the 38th parallel in Korea when we decided to stop the insanity which immediately followed WWII; the DMZ in Vietnam when we decided finally on the shape of a table to discuss the Non-War with the Non-Aggressor defended by some Hollywood Actress; the Kuwait frontier when Bush I claimed victory while leaving a despot in power who had done his best to lay waste to a people who did not wish to participate in his reign; "Rules of Engagement" meant to harm no one as we fight a no win WWII model yet again......
Where is Patrick Henry when we need his stirring speech in D.C. to ask how in the economy this nation can spend itself poor on unending war while also turning healthcare upside down frightening our healthcare providers half out of their wits. Friends of mine are afraid they will have no practice left, and will be consigned to managing P.A.s so patients may have ever declining care.
Why do we ever vote for some slogan such as "Hope you can believe in?" The words mean absolutely nothing, and I know exactly who must have proposed them, a Denver mayor who found himself elected on a slogan of "imagine a great city."
I would see our nation wrap its arms tightly around its foundation. Yes God is a firm foundation and am stirred by "God shed His grace on thee" in our national anthem, "One nation, under God" in the pledge of allegiance since before my birth, coinage and greenbacks which proclaim with every iteration "In God we Trust." To me, Christ did not proclaim "make of yourselves a great church" so much as He challenged us in Matthew 28 to proclaim His message to all of the world.
How do we do this if we are entering into arms and armament transactions as though we are the supermarket to the world? How do we do this if we are continuously a warring nation? How do we do this if we are NOT GOOD STEWARDS OF THE BLESSINGS GRANTED BY GRACE TO OUR NATION UNDER GOD? Dietrich Bonhoeffer was martyred in WWII Germany because he spoke out on behalf of God and Hitler was offended. Bonhoeffer died, three or four days before Hitler at Hitler's command.
I have friends among every race of peoples walking this planet. Why do we, the American people who are citizens, fear with trepidation speaking out to stop a tide of alien peoples from gaining our shores with agendas contrary to our one nation under God? If one reads the history of the makeup of the signers of both the Declaration of Independence and those who enacted the Constitution of the United States we MUST recognize God at the core of the guiding principles....
Yet those principles did not say one nation under Christ. Christ is part of the trinity which saves me from tragedy each day. The principles of our nation speak to religious freedom, freedom of speech, other freedoms...... while saying nothing of freedom for the HUMAN CAPITAL owned by even our first President and our third.
Thus, if the founding principles, which did not seem to condone careerist politicians hobbling an impotent electorate far more interested in consumption, sports, and entertainment than God, self aware government, and freedom: my writing asks America to reawaken. Assert political control by showing red and blue and media we choose someone else, a someone who at a local level makes sense as a true representative of a Congressional district, a someone who is far more attracted to protecting America than gifting billions to our enemies and peoples who burn our flags, kill our soldiers [as happened recently to one of our extended family], and spit on the ideal of freedom- such a someone who deserves to wear the mantle of President not because the political machine can project them into office, but because earnest real help for our nation will be known at their hands.
My quest is to see America ON ITS KNEES because we are each praying to God, the firm foundation of our nation, so we may be led to safety, to awareness not founded upon something my mother used to refer to as an idiot box, but awareness BECAUSE WE ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE in walking our neighborhoods, reclaiming them from gangs, yes gangs who would have us flee to lock our doors and shutter our garages against the ugliness outside.
We are America, and can reclaim our country from careerists, end the "pork troughs" of retirements which pander to careerists, pamper them in so called "retirement" and deliver that elected aristocracy to the same social welfare programs all of us live by. We are America which may bully, but chooses not to do so. We are America which is, as Eva says a brilliant deep PURPLE with red and blue all stirred together and drawn to coalition government unafraid to elect someone who is a flavor other than republicrat or democan, because in electing them, our country hears something different than the same old litany of trash which has wounded our economy. Criminals of corporate America who raided funds and kept them should not be rewarded, but should be forced to disgorge and go to jail. No corporation is too big to fail, even the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation. Since when does our government hand out trillions of our tax money to provide bonuses to executives of the largest corporations. Since when should our representatives ride around in limousines and lengthy motorcades. What is wrong with riding "coach." Why are junkets funded?
Gerry, We the People need to become informed, demand answers, and receiving none, do what we would do if the b u g g e r s honestly did work for us, expect an honest day of work for a respectable wage, or FIRE THEM and hire someone else. Fire them! Gee, when was that ever considered.
I feel blessed to be able to encourage others to pray,
to count blessings,
to seek out God,
to live humbly,
to be stewards of that which God has given us by blessing,

God and time will tell. We are just so happy he is healthy and all of his parts seem by ultrasound to be formed well and strong. What a blessing!! May I join the rest of you GRANDPARENTS in the Joy of the Lord you experience in your CLUB soon? After all, sharing fond blessings seems a real part of the whole grandparenting joy!!!
