Help Executive Function Disorder

It's like ADHD... But it's not... In the sense that you are able to focus on certain things (things you like/are interested in), but not on others (like school work).
My neurologist said, "It's not Attention Deficit. It's Intention Deficit."

He called it "Executive Dysfunction Syndrome," but the internet seems to call it a few different names, most often "Executive Function Disorder." They all seem to be explaining similar things.

I know it's not ADD/ADHD, but it has very very similar symptoms (the only difference I can see plainly is that I can focus on certain things while most people with ADHD may not be able to focus on anything... which I am not sure if even correct, because I know my best friend with ADHD can get VERY VERY engrossed in her paintings and drawings, which was why she went to an art school), and I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with this disorder, or knew anything about it/how people may have worked around it, especially since the symptoms are so similar to ADHD.

My neurologist thinks that this came in after my neurosurgery back in December to remove 3 Arteriovenous Malformations (ninds.nih.gov/disorders/avms/avms.htm) from my left frontal lobe (which is apparently where the "executive functioning" is controlled), and the surgery may have somehow damaged the location, causing these symptoms.

Some sources:
[b]Executive Dysfunction: *edit*
[b]Executive Function Disorder:*edit*
[b]Dysexecutive Syndrome: *edit*
(Even now, I'm doing research on these things/writing about them, asking people questions instead of doing my final project that is already a week late... I need to "re learn" and "rewire" my brain so that I can learn/force myself to prioritize better.)

Thanks in advance for any information/ideas!
