Maybe this time?
Maybe This Time
I wrote it all down so that I wouldn't forget it.
I wanted to remember every detail
Maybe this time they’d get it
How it felt and what I’m feeling
The tears roll from my cheek, from my eyes they pour
I lay here helplessly on the floor
It seems someone purposely unlocked the padded door,
I’m, pleading and begging and screaming
Please! Please! No more!
Now everything in disarray
All around me I feel panic and hysteria and dismay
My energy spent like worn out ragged clothes
I can’t feel a thing from my head to my toes
Motionless and numb, in the silence I hear
My heart pounding loud, it’s echo so clear
In the distance, I hear the lions roar
As they return to the carcass they’d eaten the night before.
Carving and gashing their teeth sink and clink
on the bone that was left
they’d already eaten the meat.
Finally, my heart skips out the race
dub lub, dub lub
it finds a new pace
Now the world is spinning, my stomach has joined in
I feel like a drug feign
fresh from my last binge
I sit for a moment,
to let it all soak in
I will write all down, so that I won’t forget it
I need to remember every little detail
Maybe this time they’ll get it?
How it felt and what I was feeling
It felt like I had fallen not from the roof
..... from the ceiling
