Dej, I got to see one of the space shuttles once, piggy-backed on a 747. HUGE, and very impressive! I was working at DFW airport for the 1st of 4 airlines, a tiny commuter called Rio Airways. This was in the early 80's and employees could hop a flight to anywhere Rio flew for $5. Which was a handful of small airports in TX - Killeen, San Angelo, Texarkana, etc.

I had credentials to ride in the cockpit so after work I rode a plane to Wichita Falls and back, just to see the shuttle.

Ah, the good old days...

Wheee, its going to be a busy week! I have a hair cut appointment, then an hour later have electrolysis. That always wipes me out. tomorrow is FINALLY an appointment with my neuro. I have been on his "emergency call list" for about a month. Im really worried he will want steroids. Then Thursday is my regular MD who wants a physical and Friday I travel to see the woman who does the crazy stuff that my cats vet did to him. its a 2 hour drive to get there, a 3 hour appointment, then 2 hours back home. That outta wipe me out. Saturday is my (ssshhh) surprise party, Sunday is church, and monday is another party lunch out with local g/fs. OMG that is a lot of time out of the house. im gonna need muscle relaxers to do this.

PLUS its going to be a ...HEAT WAVE! yep, NH is going to have a heat wave. Three days of mind bending heat. Over 95 all three days. We are not used to that here, and many families dont have AC as its so rare to get above 90 here. The stores are stacked high with them. Begging folks to get ready. I got an extra one to cool off the back side of the house so my up front ones dont have to work so hard. I have my bag of ice packs, cool scarfs, and ice water bottles ready for the ride.

Jack the cat is doing great! he is down to meds only once a day now, and we are thinking about weaning him off of that. He has been really enjoying his catio.

The garden is planted, and doing well. The roses are in bloom, and my yard is looking wonderful.

Have a great week you guys, you may not see much of me this week.

We're gettin' ready for hotter temps here in GA, too. Low 90's all week. The Lord was really watchin' out for me when He had my A/C go out during one of the cool spells. It never got above 76 in the house for those days. If I had to go without A/C this week it would be brutal.

I've got to water my new red maple trees after the sun sets tonight. Trying to wait for the evening time so the water won't evaporate.

Dej, I hope your party turns out to be fun. Sounds like your DH has really gone all out to make it a special day for you. Your week sounds full so rest when you can so you'll enjoy it all.

I ordered a new large print Bible this morning. Mine is not large print and it's very hard to read. Plus, it was my Mom's and I really just want to preserve it as much as I can. I still love to see her handwritten notes in the margins.......makes me smile just thinking of her.

Everyone have a beautiful Tuesday!

I just had the best conversation with a complete stranger!!

I called my local Post Office to check on a request I had mailed last month. I wanted to install a small mail receptacle on my front porch for my mail because there are days it's difficult to walk to the mailbox.....especially in the summer when it's so hot.

I wanted to check on what kind of response I would get and what I needed to do before installing the wall box.

I spoke with the sweetest lady. The lady I needed to speak with was out today. We talked for a while and she asked what my disability was. She was familiar with MS and she has Myasthenia Gravis herself. Well, 45 minutes later we were still talking and I learned all about her and her MG and she learned all about me and my MS!! We talked about kids, cats, food and everything inbetween! I felt like I had known her all my life.

It was such a treat. She even invited me to church with her and offered to come give me a ride if I decided I wanted to go. Bless her sweet heart.

Proud Momma here. DD was invited to speak at a Leaders group at a local college today. She was so nervous but was well received. What a thrill for a Mother. And to think that she had to call me to tell about it..

She also has been invited by the Chamber of Commerce to be a member of the Leaders Group there. I hope none of my buttons popping, hit ya in the eye..

I should have included a smiley face--it was Sally's buttons popping and "hitting me in the eye". Sorry!

Just hibernating here in Cenral IL -- 92 degrees right now at 5:47 p.m. I feel like I am in Texas. The ground is all cracked and the grass is dead.
