Hmm, if a storm is coming, you "batten down the hatches". What do you batten down (or up?) if there is heat coming? Hazy, hot, and humid for tomorrow and Thursday. We brought the two pedestal fans upstairs from the basement, and probably tomorrow night we'll plug in the A/C in the bedroom.
I keep saying I'm going to get a ceiling fan for the living room (where my recliner lives) but I don't really want to lose the light fixture (three bulbs). The ones with both a fan and lights look like they be too low. No cathedral ceiling. Rats.
We got groceries this morning, and happily found two items in the grocery store that were going to cost us a stop at the drugstore (a birthday card and fragrance-free bar soap). We ended up with lots of bags for Mr. Blessings to haul up from the garage because several things we use were on sale. The cash register receipt said we saved 32%.
We bought a muskmelon (it was perfect!) and some bosc pears, and ingredients for wraps. We really like the spinach wraps. Also (in preparation for the hot weather?) splurged on some Blue Bunny ice cream. Not only is it my second favorite brand, right after Ben & Jerry's, but I love the recyclable containers with lids that fit tight. (I received no money from BB for those comments

)
My former son-in-law worked at Ben & Jerry's, and he was always giving us pints of ice cream. I like "stuff" in my ice cream, so that was what he usually brought. Good thing he went to work for a different company, or I'd weigh 700 pounds, instead of....never mind.
They just asked the question on the news, "Would you take a test that showed whether or not you'd develop Alzheimer's?" The piece itself hasn't been on yet, but I've been thinking about that. I don't know yet if I would or wouldn't, but it crosses my mind: how often would innacurate test results--false positives--persuade someone to harm himself or herself? Sadly, I know people who probably would do that.
Well, aren't I just the good news fairy tonight? Sorry about that--let's switch back to ice cream...
