Hmm, if a storm is coming, you "batten down the hatches". What do you batten down (or up?) if there is heat coming? Hazy, hot, and humid for tomorrow and Thursday. We brought the two pedestal fans upstairs from the basement, and probably tomorrow night we'll plug in the A/C in the bedroom.

I keep saying I'm going to get a ceiling fan for the living room (where my recliner lives) but I don't really want to lose the light fixture (three bulbs). The ones with both a fan and lights look like they be too low. No cathedral ceiling. Rats.

We got groceries this morning, and happily found two items in the grocery store that were going to cost us a stop at the drugstore (a birthday card and fragrance-free bar soap). We ended up with lots of bags for Mr. Blessings to haul up from the garage because several things we use were on sale. The cash register receipt said we saved 32%.

We bought a muskmelon (it was perfect!) and some bosc pears, and ingredients for wraps. We really like the spinach wraps. Also (in preparation for the hot weather?) splurged on some Blue Bunny ice cream. Not only is it my second favorite brand, right after Ben & Jerry's, but I love the recyclable containers with lids that fit tight. (I received no money from BB for those comments )

My former son-in-law worked at Ben & Jerry's, and he was always giving us pints of ice cream. I like "stuff" in my ice cream, so that was what he usually brought. Good thing he went to work for a different company, or I'd weigh 700 pounds, instead of....never mind.

They just asked the question on the news, "Would you take a test that showed whether or not you'd develop Alzheimer's?" The piece itself hasn't been on yet, but I've been thinking about that. I don't know yet if I would or wouldn't, but it crosses my mind: how often would innacurate test results--false positives--persuade someone to harm himself or herself? Sadly, I know people who probably would do that.

Well, aren't I just the good news fairy tonight? Sorry about that--let's switch back to ice cream...

94 degrees here today. I went to our local farmer's market this morning, and bought tomatoes, strawberries, corn on the cob, pretzel rolls, focaccia bread, and an apple turnover. I had corn, tomato slices, and bread for dinner. It tasted delicious. A young German woman sells the best bread and baked goods. I also went to the pool at 5:00 for an hour. My knees are so stiff sometimes it feels like they will snap in two when I bend them

ITS HOT! Darn hot! its bumping 100 here! I go blind in the heat! I cant stand it. I feel awful, look awful, and really struggle.

My dance of 100 appointments days in a row is slowing whittling down. Saw the dentist. no cavities. Saw the MD, not so lucky, bladder infection. Saw the neuro, we are talking PPMS vs SPMS. Made even more appointments to see special folks like a neuro/optho who specializes in eye nerve issues. Takes forever to get an appointment but where am I going? See the regular MD today for follow up, and he will not be happy that bladder sx didnt improve. Will talk about interstitial cystitis. and prehaps get that looked into.

Tomorrow is the BIG day. Going to see the same type of MD that treated my cat. (sounds silly dont it) she uses that magic wand, and magic pad, but on humans. She is extremely expensive, but I have cash in hand and we are ready. FIX ME!

The trailer officially sold. We got the wire transfer of money, we allowed them to drive it away, and as soon as Bank of America deems itself ready they will overnight us the title so we can give it to the new guys. They were thrilled with the camper. they loved on it, danced by it it, petted on it, bragged on it, and I dont think we could have picked better. So, congrats to the folks who will live my dream (ugh, sarcasm)

im off to keep marching forward. Today is regular MD, groceries, and more banking errands.

Stay cool and dont forget water for your animals. DONT take them in the car with you on days like today. OMG I saw a movie called In Dog we trust on HBO. DONT SEE IT!! PLEASE DONT SEE IT! it upset me greatly on some parts. Trust me DONT SEE IT! I can still hear the screaming puppies.

Going to be another hot day in GA. My sister called yesterday and it was 96 degrees in DC!!

I've been out to dump ice cubes in the outside kitties water bowl already this morning. They melted immediately but I have to do that a few times a day to keep their water cool.

My youngest DS has been looking for a different job.....he's just not happy where he is anymore. Management changed and so did the atmosphere. He's been interviewing and yesterday he got an offer! He was so excited. It's closer to home for him......better medical and 401K benefits.......and a little more money......so he's very thankful for this new opportunity. I've been praying for him about this.

I hope everyone is staying indoors and keeping cool in this heat wave. It's a little early for this to be happening......wonder if our whole summer season will be unseasonably hot?

My little back yard has been hotter than Hot-lanta, lately.. Inside, in my A/C home (TYVM Lord), you will find Doggy and me. You're all invited, including your Furry Friends....BYOB & a bag of ice.

Barf barf barf...sorry, just my commentary on two days of hot, muggy weather. It was "cooler" here than other parts of the state. We "only" got up to 88 yesterday and today. It's still 82 here, so one more sticky night to go.

I picked some romaine this morning to go with the iceburg lettuce we got at the grocery store. We don't really have a garden per se, but we have some huge flower pots that I haven't used in a couple years. My husband commandeered them to plant cabbage for his chickens, and when we were picking up plants he asked if I wanted him to plant some romaine. Why, sure!

A yellow jacket has been hanging around my window for about 15 minutes. I know he isn't "trying to get in", but it sure looks like it. Ugh, I hate bees. Back when I played the organ at church, sometimes a big ugly hornet/wasp would get in the sanctuary, and I'd be trying to keep one eye on the music and the other on the bee.

Blessings I can just hear you now. Playing Amazing grace and then ending up in 'the flight of the bumblebee'!

That was a good way for me to start the day, with Sally's hysterically funny graphic, and Doydie's funny comment! My Grandpa used to play "Flight of the Bumblebee" on the clarinet. I tried.
