Yesterday was Derrick's official 21st Birthday but today is the
celebration. I'm so glad. Because something was going on
yesterday and I spent 2/3rds of the day in bed, not feeling good.

But he is ready for his day at the bowling lanes with hopefully
some of his special olympics friends, some of my family, and
some of our other kids and their families. Its been like pulling
teeth to get any of them to committ to coming.

I sure hope they come, my two oldest granddaughters are really
looking forward to coming.

I had until today, what it looked like two of his friends going with
us. One isn't going now. And one is being brought by her mother.

Which is fantastic. I am worried, I didn't get as many committments
as I wanted. Or did I and I just can't remember.

Ugh, its been a mess. But he is fine with what ever happens. He
is a good person. He planned a party with his summer school friends.
Some of them can't come, and were really upset, so he made
sugar cookies as their treat at school, and took a treat bag. Which
they loved.

And a girl that has a birthday tomorrow, got a special treat.

It was neat, he is always thinking of others.

Well everything worked out. And was a great success.

We had a great group of over 20 bowlers. And about 10 more sitting
around just for the food.

He had a great time. My son and daughter in laws van decided to start
after giving them trouble. So all was well.

Whew.

Some news on my physical therapy.

I have been with lots less pain this last week. My therapist has been
finding a section in my back that is out of place I think she calls it.
Its not a lot, but enough that she works to put it back. And then
gives me some things in exercises to work on.

And then we figured out that there were some exercises that I could
do that help exteremely with the hips and upper legs. So we worked
them through and added them. They have releived most of the pain.

This was on Tuesday and Thursday. So I have continued to work
through these exercises and will continue.

I am hoping that its not just a fluke.

Dear Donna

that sounds like really realllly good news on the physical therapy! So glad you are getting a lot of pain relief and doesn't sound like a fluke but all the same I have my fingers crossed for you.

Hi Mari,

I am fine, just got back from a short vacation. We had a great time
went to a casino. My first, but it was fun. I was the big winner.

I made about $30.00 from a $50.20 ticket out of a slot machine.

I had spent about $20.oo or a little more.

We aren't big spendiers. My husband spent more. And Derrick spent
a little more too.

I enjoy watching others so I was doing a lot of watching.

I've been released from PT, and am doing good for the short time.

I am also doing good for right now, going two weeks between massages.

I"m hoping to keep that up.

I was also contacted by phone message on Friday by Derrick's Case Manager
for the Service Waiver. He know is ready for the next step.

Yippee, we can pick providers. And he can start the next step.
