Each of us has interests that we think about. This is one of yours.

I cannot focus my head well enough to think about stuff beyond a two week hurricane supple of food, water, batteries that we would use for a small hurricane. A big one would be a different story. I pray.

. . . I am not sure if this helped you or not.
I hope so.

I agree. I put these things in God's hands. Prayer helps me. BF

When the state of Georgia had a severe drought a few years back, I was concerned about a power plant down river in Alabama as water is needed to cool the rods during normal function.

Preparation is good.
Remember, though, as my tdoc would say, "Be aware." When she tells me that, she is reminding me to keep myself regulated.

Keep taking care of your emotional needs.

I agree. It sounds like Germany is on the right track to find alternatives. Splitting the atom, and harnessing the power of the Sun is very dangerous. I don't think that human beings should use atomic power. There have been 3 major nuclear power plant incidents. We cannot afford a 4th,or 5th.

Even walking past a spent nuclear rod can kill a person in two days. I believe that this was what I read earlier this year. These nuclear wastes are deadly.

They are putting nuclear reactors on submarines,Air Craft carriers, and etc. Not a good idea. There are to much nuclear substances in use. There must be a better way. BF

By all means, Brokenfriend, don't ever delete any of your post that may help, or warn other people of potential threats,or risks. Keep speaking your mind because we are getting brainwashed by the government to keep our mouths shut and everything will be fine. Bull Crap. I thank you for the info.

I talked to my Pharmicist today... she said that in order for them to fill emergency or even vacation medications I would have to have used 80% of my medication.

I asked even if I am going to be gone after I run out... she said yes, that's the way the law is written here.

She said that if I needed a refill in an emergency they would do their best to get it to me....have someone deliver it to me if I couldn't get out or if I was traveling they would transfer the script and then transfer it back when I returned home.

Good thing I don't travel and that the worst of the storms haven't made it to my little corner of the world...yet.

Please know that I do understand the fears of those of you who live near the coasts--hurricane zones, in tornado alley, near nuclear plants, in earthquake zones, etc. I would be feeling the same as you...wondering if I could get extra meds or making sure I had enough--somehow.

Hi, Abbie,

That is fabulous that you talked to the pharmacist.

Days before a storm comes here, the t.v. starts telling us to stock up on medication, pet food, and baby formula. After the storm hits, the stores might not be able to sell us stuff for a long time. Hurricane Wilma in 2006 crossed Florida as a category 3 storm, I had no electricity for 9 days. The pharmacies were without power for some time. The gas stations had no power to pump gas.

We need our emergency medications BEFORE the storm hits.

There are 40 reactors of the Chernobyl classification that are still operating in Eastern Europe, and the former Soviet States. In 25 other countries,426 atomic power plants continue to operate.

Glenn Allen Cheney said Chernobyl is the size of New York State, and it's unsafe for human habitation for five hundred years.

Governments are blaming each other for cover ups,and incompetence. Mothers blame governments of murder. Former Soviet bureaucrats accuse mothers of hysteria. Scientist contradict each other. Doctors try to link radiation, pollution, and malnutrition to explain a syndrome similar to AIDS.

It goes on,and on. It would be a difficult thing to get the truth about a atomic reactor. Since no insurance companies could afford to insure a atomic reactor, the government does. BF

Default Hi Abbie

Won't your doctor write a script for more than what you need? If the doctor for example wants to "up" meds, or double them, there should be no problem with the pharmacy. I go to walgreens. I take two different narcotics, my doc, just upped the number, and I didn't have a problem. With that extra number, and not taking a few others, I put enough away for emergiencies for a month or more. She does know that I save a few for evacuation purposes. I did evac for Isaac, even though I didn't need to. Medication wasn't a worry. You don't need this extra worry if a storm should come. Just dealing with that alone is difficult. I am on the coast too, near Tampa. Florida is a rough state for being allowed meds to begin with, but the docs I go to seem to understand this evacuation stuff. Medicare Part D doesn't cover over a certain amount. I just pay it and am glad worry is gone. I hope that you can get some help, so you don't have to worry about medications should you have to evacuate. I wish you all the best. ginnie
