Hi phyllis
You are not a looney tune. Nobody wants to die. It is the hand we are given being human. It is how you look at it, which helps a person to cope. There is a book out that is new, called Mortality. On the best seller list right now.
No religion, or certain ideas, or methods can for sure take anxiety away or the fear. I feel it too, and just choose to go with the flow, and hope my own ending is peaceful. I try to distract myself with reading, doing fun things, and being with my friends enjoying a day in the country. If I fixated on it, I think I would be pulling out what little hair I do have left. Try to live each day, doing something positive, just for yourself. I have a psych friend of 35 years, and gave me some advise when I obsess over something. He said, picture a shelf in your mind, and put that obsession up on the shelf. You are allowed to take it off the shelf for a certain amount of time, then put it away again, and get on with the business of finding some measure of peace and happyness. All of us are in the same boat. Use the good times, for wanting more good times. Bad comes soon enough. It worked for me phyllis, and stopped me from obessing about all the bad things happening to me right now, like loosing my paid for home. Great...don't even know where I will be living. So today, I am working gently out in the garden, I will read, and do something positive so I don't freak. all my best to you. ginnie
