I'm still working on my SSD application and will tell my story later when I feel better.

My insurance ends this month so I'm seeing him Monday and he's doing EMG Wed. My Dr thinks I have PN and so do I. Since my ins is ending I wont be able to see him again,unless it's before the end of this month. So on this first visit,should I go ahead and tell him I'm filing for SSD and ask him if he will fill out the form I need,when the time comes,if he finds something,or should I wait and see what he says about the EMG and what his DX is and just send him the forms to fill out.

I feel like I should tell him a little of my history,etc,and why I'm filing so he will know. What should I do?

Good luck with your doctors appt. I don't know if your neuro is willing, but my doctor added on to the form for SSD. This letter did more to get me the disabilty than any other document. The personal letter he wrote on my behalf is what the judge looked at, at my hearing. The form is necessary, but the letter would help you too. I wish you all the best. ginnie

I hope he will. I hope my Dr's office sent the correct records. In 2010 when I went to the Endocrinologist,they didn't even know why I was there cause office didn't send my records. Endo's office had to call and have them faxed.

when my doctor sent me in for a "EMG"its what saved me and help me get "SSDI"cause from the resultsfrom that is when they sent me to a "neruo sergent.and the rest ...well helped me.its when they started the medication.its what the judge wanted to see.not only my condition and what I am capable of doing,but what kind of "treatment"am I getting

half the trouble is getting your doctors to coordinate all the information. Keep a copy of all records from all physicians if you can. This can help the process. Then if they don't have some record, you will and can have them copy it. I wish you the best. ginnie

How bad is this EMG gonna hurt.

Good morning. This test from what I understand, depends on the one administering it. I was a chicken and refused it. I had a neuro who dismissed me basically because I refused. I saw another neuro, who told me it wasn't necessary, as my neck clearly showed what was wrong. I really hope it goes ok for you, and that it doesn't hurt. I had been jabbed enough and I guess I had already reached my limits for what I was going to tolerate. My mental state at the time wasn't all that good.
When I was a girl, about 11 years old, I had to have alergy testing. I remember the office members dragging me out from under a couch in the office. I didn't do so good with that testing either. It is my own personal war with pokey things. Most people are braver than I am, and thats the truth. ginnie

my sister ginnie is right.it all depends on the person..hard to say.i asked the same question here,when i was going to have on done..for me though."EASY"no big deal.but then again needle and pins(the song)dont bother me that much

Red Flowers i have had numerous EMG/NCS's over the last 9 years now done by 4 different doctors. i wont say that it is pleasurable, but it is really no big deal. the needles are very slim and dont hurt. the electrical zaps are no big deal. its just something to get through. and then its done. nothing that you cant do. i dont hesitate when the time comes for me to get another one and it is nothing i worry about when one is coming up. It is important that you have objective medical testing findings for your ssdi application.
