Hi,

I had a bad few hours. We made a wrong turn when we got to the city. Hubby got freaked out. I realized later that a wrong turn means disaster for him. Maybe in his panic and loss of control he really thinks we are completly lost and that I somehow failed him. The sun was going down so I knew which way was west and so on. I knew how to get back into the city.
We found the hotel eventually by stopping for directions twice, using WAZE maps on my phone and calling the hotel. I did not get un-freaked out about his upset until my night meds kicked in.

I found a phone message from Work Buddy earlier. He wanted to let me know he made it to town -- he and his wife chose a different hotel.

I will call him in the morning.

Traveling is difficult.

Heart So glad you made it

Dear Mari,

So sorry about getting lost... it isn't any fun period let alone with nightfall coming in but even worse when the person driving is having a cow about it. I'm so glad the sunset helped you get your bearings and with some help from the hotel you got there safe and sound.

I am glad to hear from you. I was not sure if you were going to be able to check in with us tonight, but i was hoping you would. I was sort of wanting to know you got there.

I hope the rest of the trip goes smoothly and especially that the presentation goes well tomorrow. I am thinking of you.

I wonder if room service is still open. They might have an herbal infusion to help soothe your pour dear befrazzled soul.

Something i do to feel good fast at times is to take a hot washcloth to each of my feet and massage them upwards from the toes to the ankles, including between the toes. it is only lightly cleansing but it will reactivate microcirculation. it will help reduce swelling if any too... very good for feet that have been trapped in a vehicle for many hours. as soon as you take off the hot washcloth and dry the feet, they start to cool.... and it is very quick. EXPRESS foot-pampering. if not tonight... might be handy for after the presentation

i do hope you are able to rest well tonight and thank you again for checking in. I feel better knowing you are safe.

Thanks Waves. Hot towels on feet will be nice later.

I woke up at 7:30. Mornings are hard. I need to improve my lot in life with regard to mornings.
I ironed my outfit (such as it is). Hubby is being slightly less grouchy than he was last night. This morning he figured out the wireless and with my suggestion got out his own computer to write down map instructions to get home ( no printer so he asked me for a pen.)
He made tea and shared oatmeal cookies he brought from home. I brought some walnuts too. I hope we can go somewhere decent for supper.
His plan is to watch tv all day in the room and walk down to buy a ready made salad at the convenience store downstairs.

Work Buddy had to rent a car to get here because his new car broke before he left home( I guess I will get details later). Then just before he got to this city he looked down at the gas gage of his rental car and saw that it was past empty. He found a gas place.
Over the bad phone connection he explained some garbage about his lap top. Apparently it is not working optimally.
I have my computer with the loaded PP and jump drive with the PP. With Hubby's computer, we have a third one but Hubby is not a member of the conference and will not be nearby. ( it costs $450.00 to be in the conference rooms to hear the presentations and big lunch speaker and see the exhibits.)

On a related enough note, this city's tv stations have more political ads than my city's tv does. They are obnoxious --- esp when hubby laughs at the ads on the political team I love dearly.

Mari

I can so relate to getting lost. I always get lost in Indy. Ask Derrick,
he is the one that always has to drive around with me looking
for the hotel I'm looking for.

One time it was um, two or three hours.

None needed imho.

i hope between yours and hubby's laptop that the presentation went off seamlessly and that you are feeling much more relaxed now... and hubby less grumpy.

i am figuring you guys should be getting out of there soon for some food and again i wish you the best in that regard. the hotel reception may have some useful suggestions based on your preferences.

i'll check back later. i am going to bed but not sure how long i will sleep.
