Bad Night

I am still in the midst of a terrible flare since the round trip to the surgeon on Thursday. I sure wish my back would settle down. There just isn't a comfortable position or enough meds or pillows to get me comfortable or relatively so. The weather, here, has been good. I guess I should be thankful for that as it would probably make a bad scene even worse.

Ah, my daughter is catering the family meal, after the surgery from Panera bread. YUMMY. She is getting a tray of sandwhiches and two different soups. I told her to make certain that Black Forest Ham with cream cheese on tomato/basil bread was on the tray and their brocoli soup. That will be better than any meds.

The puter is hanging on but in critical condition. This one of the few sites I can get to along with Netflix. I was in the middle of writing this and was magicly transformed to Netflix and found myself watching an old TV Twilight Zone program. Wierd. Hopefully, I will be able to "go to church" in a few hours. My daughter heads the praise team and waves at me just before the service starts. It helps that my grandson operates the camera that is on her and tells the guy in the media room to let him get a shot of his mother waving. LOL!!! Everyone have a blessed day.

Hi Spiney ~ Jeez I'm sorry you're still in a flare.

This one has lasted quite awhile! Has ice helped you at all? Ice is great, but you can't take it everywhere.

And like you said, driving doesn't do you any good. I had to take my son to the hospital for an MRI yesterday which is about 30 miles away, and by the time we got home I was about ready to scream! Just that 60 mile round trip was enough to make me want to kill someone. LOL (preferably the surgeon who left me like this. LOL )

I hope the pain starts to ease soon. Something has to give -- it just can't keep this up! You're going to have to see your doc if it does. Keep us posted, will you? And prayers are coming your way. God bless & take care. Hugs, Lee

I have to suck this up. No point in calling Pain Man as he is reluctant to increase the meds since I live alone. He is concerned that I might forget to lock the door, turn off burners etc. I agree with him. I can't ice. We all have our idiocencracies and that is one of mine. My spine won't tollerate anything that is slightly cool. I even have to warm my Lidoderm patches between my hands before applying them as the goo has an initial cool sensation. Moist heat several times a day helps somewhat. My aid comes tomorrow which means I will get a good long hot soak. That will be wonderful for a while. That was a 250 mile round trip on bad freeway. This, too, shall pass. Take care.

250 round trip??? GOOD GRIEF?? Isn't there anyone closer? Or have you tried all them? Holy cow, no wonder you were in agony! If I had to ride/drive that far, I'd probably be in the hospital -- or at least WANT to be.

You poor thing. I really feel for you - I really do. My thoughts & prayers are with you. Before I got this latest med combo, I too wanted to tear my hair out. Please take good care my friend. God bless. Hugs, Lee

This is the surgeon who is doing the implant. Pain Man is correct. He is The Man. The appt. took 1.5 hours and he explained everything to my daughters who went with me. He is going to be as uninvassive as possible as the bone quality sucks. No paddles. No lammie as he is concerned he could do more damage than good if he messes around with the bone. All he does is brain and spinal implants. The guy is worth the trip and the flare. Have a great evening.
