I, DON'T KNOW HOW THIS WORKS...HERE GOES. WAS DX 1 WK AGO W/CONDITION. DR, WAS NOT OVERLY CONCERNED, WAS TOLD TO USE MOIST HEAT /TYLENOL, ALSO HAVE PNEUMONIA. HAVE BEEN ON A LOT OF SITES LOOKING FOR INFO...THIS BOARD IS VERY SCARY AND SO MANY HAVE SUFFERED FOR SO LONG. WILL HAVE LABS IN 3 WKS AS IT IS TOO SOON TO KNOW THE SED RATE BECAUSE OF THE PNEUMONIA. MY FAMILY WANTS ME TO SEE A NEURO/VASCULAR DR, I, DON'T KNOW HOW LONG TO WAIT TO SEE IF IT GOES AWAY.... ANY THOUGHTS WOULD BE HELPFUL..... IT GIVES NEW MEANING TO THE WORD PAIN !

The correct spelling is carotidynia just in case you were struggling to find results when you are searching. There is a lot of information on the Internet but like so many other medical problems, its not really clear to medical science what causes it so you may have to learn as much as you can whilst accepting that there aren't any clear-cut answers.
