Nothing exciting in my corner of the world, which is usually a good thing! I'm tuckered out. This was Bed Change Day--rare enough to be capitalized, apparently. That means about 4-5 trips to the basement and I took advantage, so to speak, and did some sorting and puttering down there.
After I finished the laundry, I got to looking at the fabric softener dispenser in the washer and thought, "When was the last time you cleaned THAT?" I never did figure out how long it had been, but I spent about a half hour on that--ten minutes cleaning it, and twenty minutes figuring out how to take it apart and put it back together again.
I did end up having my car battery replaced yesterday morning. I love my mechanic! Forty minutes from the time I called, his son had been here, switched the battery, and was headed back up the road. So we made a flying trip to the next town for a few groceries. Got back just as it started to snow--cutting it too close for me!
My husband virtually NEVER "asks" for things, but he said, "Were you going to get some hamburger?" which translates: "Can we have cheeseburgers?"
So we had cheeseburgers for lunch. Or rather he did, I had two burger patties (I make 8 patties out of a pound of meat), one bun, and a salad.
A few months ago we were in that store and I asked the owner if he had any lean ground beef--there was only ground chuck in the case with no fat % marked. He gave me this whole song and dance (I thought) about it being as lean or leaner than the 90% in other stores, he guaranteed it, blah blah blah. Well, guess what? He was right, it just melts in your mouth (does meat melt?).
Took my shower at 5:30 and now I'm just sitting here in my jammies, winding down, listening to the news, getting ready to feast on some oyster crackers. The good kind, Westminster brand. (I just remembered--my parents used to "dip" oyster crackers in margarine, just like chips and dip. Didn't appeal to me!)
