Having a nice leisurely Sun afternoon. Must be time for my nap now..

Up early, wet swiffered all the floors, fed cat, emptied litter. DD came
over with a few groceries and to visit. No grands today. This Divorce
thingy is interfering with my Grand visits, since they are with their
Dad on Sundays.

On with what I was doing.......oh yes, nap time.

Hope your Sun. is going nicely..

Not much is goping on here. It had been raining kind of hard. At least it is not snow. I went with a friend to do a little shopping yesterday, and had lunch at Red Lobster. Those shrimp commercials are just too enticing. I am doing some laundy and other cleaning. But mainly I am just reaidng. I just fnished "The Three Weismanns of Westport" (February book club choice) and I am now reading "The Land of Mango Sunsets." I am thinking about a nap too. That is what rainy Sunday afternoons are for, right?

Happy Sunday all...raining here too...nice nap weather

Well, DH was totally surprised by the party!! He told me the evening before "I don't want a party, you know". I told him after the stress of his dads funeral I gave up on any idea of a party. He boughtit
38 people came...we had a wonderful time. Lots of talking & laughter. DIL once again was wonderful in setting up & keeping everything going.

So now I'm in recupe mode...just laying around while he works on finishing the powder room. No more parties or anything until the grandabies arrive....ahhhh...

Hi Everyone!

Debbie - Glad to hear DH had a great time. Also, I am so thankful that you DIL was there to help. That gave you a chance to not only visit with guests but also to pace yourself.

Sally - Divorce effects whole families, not just the couple. I'm sorry you don't get to see your grands as much as you did before. Are you able to talk to them regularly on the phone and stuff like that?

Barb - Sounds like a perfect Sunday at your house. It sounds so peaceful and relaxing.

I worked a little this morning and am now ready for a nap. I have to rest up today as tomorrow is going to be a busier one for me and won't be able to nap. So, I'm trying to take it easy today. Tomorrow I get my mammo and DEXA scan. I'm a little late for my mammo as I should have had it done in July. I know I really shouldn't put it off like that as my sister had breast cancer. I'm nervous about my DEXA tomorrow too. I have shrunk almost 3 inches in the past few years. I was 5' 6 3/4" and when I went to the dr. the other day they measured me at 5' 4". I know if I am in a lot of pain I can measure an inch shorter but that much, YIKES! So, tomorrow should be interesting.

I hope you all have a great day!

Happy Fat Tuesday Y'All.

Today is the 45th Birthday of my Niece and Nephew.
They were born on Abe Lincoln's birthday, premature
and weighed about 1 lb apiece. They weren't supposed
to live, but after about 2 months in the hospital, they did.
It's a joy to know them.

Happy bday to them Sal...

my grandbaby might share their bday...DD28 called early this morning. her water had broken. She went to the hospital, and they kept her. She wasn't advancing very quickly so they gave her ptocin a little while ago. haven't heard anything since.
She wants her dad and me to come up asap, just until she gets home. Then she, daddy and baby want to spend a few days together until they want me back to help.
I felt the same way when I had my first...within 48 hrs of coming home we were on the phone to MIL begging her to come over and stop this baby from crying

So DH and I are going to leave mid afternoon to see if we can get up there on time...it's a little over 4 hours. Not sure it's going to be worth it, since I'll be up there sometime next week...

Nothing exciting in my corner of the world, which is usually a good thing! I'm tuckered out. This was Bed Change Day--rare enough to be capitalized, apparently. That means about 4-5 trips to the basement and I took advantage, so to speak, and did some sorting and puttering down there.

After I finished the laundry, I got to looking at the fabric softener dispenser in the washer and thought, "When was the last time you cleaned THAT?" I never did figure out how long it had been, but I spent about a half hour on that--ten minutes cleaning it, and twenty minutes figuring out how to take it apart and put it back together again.

I did end up having my car battery replaced yesterday morning. I love my mechanic! Forty minutes from the time I called, his son had been here, switched the battery, and was headed back up the road. So we made a flying trip to the next town for a few groceries. Got back just as it started to snow--cutting it too close for me!

My husband virtually NEVER "asks" for things, but he said, "Were you going to get some hamburger?" which translates: "Can we have cheeseburgers?"
So we had cheeseburgers for lunch. Or rather he did, I had two burger patties (I make 8 patties out of a pound of meat), one bun, and a salad.

A few months ago we were in that store and I asked the owner if he had any lean ground beef--there was only ground chuck in the case with no fat % marked. He gave me this whole song and dance (I thought) about it being as lean or leaner than the 90% in other stores, he guaranteed it, blah blah blah. Well, guess what? He was right, it just melts in your mouth (does meat melt?).

Took my shower at 5:30 and now I'm just sitting here in my jammies, winding down, listening to the news, getting ready to feast on some oyster crackers. The good kind, Westminster brand. (I just remembered--my parents used to "dip" oyster crackers in margarine, just like chips and dip. Didn't appeal to me!)

Default I'm a Grandma!

Hadley "Haddie" Meredith Vollmer was born last night at 9:15 weighing 6 lb.14oz &19" long.
Mom took no drugs during her 16 hour labor...she's a real trooper. But did say labor "sucks".
It was surreal seeing my baby girl holding her own angel...
