Razzle, what brand computer do you have. Sometimes its best to use the hidden partition that most major companies install and put your computer back to the way it was when you bought it. Is your computer a Dell, HP ?
There are many tools available out on the internet to help get your computer back running great again if you do not want to reformat. I have been repairing computers for over 15 years now and if you give me a little more info maybe I can help. Tom

here is more suggestions -

If you don't understand how to use those, sometimes you just need to find somebody to be able to go " hands on" for you.
Do you have a friend or family member near you that knows a little bit about computers?

Ah yes, the ads problem. I've dealt with these before.

Some of the ways you can remove them is the easiest way, by going to Control Panel, then Uninstall Programs. Find the toolbar or the name of the ad thing, and click uninstall. Once that is done, I recommend to restart your computer.

If that doesn't work, then I would suggest updating and running MalwareBytes (I think you had said you had done that.)

IF that doesn't work, then I would go to ComboFix. ****This should be the last resort, and all you do is follow the simple instructions. I've done and it does perfectly work for me. I would recommend while running this program to turn your antivirus off if you have one.

The best antivirus program I would recommend is AVG or Windows Security Essentials. AVG does drag your computer down somewhat, but it gets the job done. But out of the two I recommend what I use and that's Windows Security Essentials. Very easy to use and doesn't slow your computer down as AVG does.

Hope this helps.
