PCS 3 months
Hello...I too tripped at home 3 months ago. I blacked out about a minute after I fell. I was shaking and lost bladder control. 40 minutes after the fall I blacked out two more times. All 3 black outs were short, apparently 20 to 30 seconds.
I have headaches 24/7, some days worse than others, however I am much better than I was a month ago. The nausea was really hard to tolerate but has subsided a great deal. My biggest problems are my headaches and just a general overall feeling of unwell....so tired all the time.
My neurologist prescribed Nortriptyline. I'm not sure if it has helped or not. I have had my MRI and EEG and will see the neurologist again to go over the results in a couple of weeks. My family doctor has told me that both the MRI and EEG has shown something but minimal.
7 weeks ago I attempted to work as I was told by the insurance company that I would not be covered. After providing them with more medical information they approved my absence.
I am a business analyst so 85% of my job is on the computer and I have to use my brain. I tried 3 separate times to work in that period for just 1/2 days. It was terrible and I was sick for days afterwards.
Now that my short term disability is running out the insurance company has an aggressive return to work program for me...they call it gradual. They don't care about my well being just that I get back to work before they have to pay my salary under the long term care. So starting tomorrow I am to work 4 hours a day for 4 days. The following week is 6 hours a day for 4 days. The week after that its back to full time hours and days. My employer seems to be happy to let the insurance company push me into this. The employee is really alone in this especially since this is an invisible injury that not many people understand. If I had the money and didn't care about my job I would seek legal action.
I know I can't pull off these hours. The thought of trying already makes me feel sick. I cannot explain the anxiety that this creates for me. I believe the stress the insurance company has put me under all the way through this has just made things worse for me.
That's my story. Has anybody else found them self in a similar situation?
