Did this diet work better than the regime you were on a few months ago, Dej, from the person who put you through changes?
I tried Paleo diet many years ago--was it over l3 or l4? Too long ago. Didn't work for me.Gave me acute acute pain. Sort of what I'm having right now from, I think, having a flu shot.
But I have different body than you have. I have porphyria too, and carbs are required.
So I stick to Swank, except for adding more eggs than Swank prescriibes.
Paleo diet was prescribed by a few on the old Harvard Neurology Webforum which is no longer extant.
Lots of people tried it, some thought it really helped, most did not think it helped their MS.

I am amazed by this diet. I know when I cheat for a day and I REALLY know when I cheat for 2 days in a row. my stomach stops working, I feel bloated, constipated, grouchy, brain fogged, and loggy.

It was really hard in the early days but I am quite used to it now. Milk was my hardest give up. I LOVE milk! ice cream, cheese, and so on. It was as hard to give up as smoking was.

My bowels work again, my gastroparesis has all but disappeared. My skin looks amazing! my hair and nails do too. I am continuing to lose weight even tho I didnt start this diet for weight loss. When I sneak white bread or processed grains into my diet my stomach says STOP! and then it stops.

I have been able to stop my heart burn meds, my nausea meds, my gastroparesis meds, and my muscle relaxers. I have cut my pain pill down to the lowest dose and am only on it once a day now.

I feel much less stressed, and much less anxiety. it was a challenge to find good recipes or yummy treats that I could eat and not be cheating, but there are a TON of books out there now. I feel tons better.

After reading books like Wheat Belly and hearing other paleo stories I am sold on this for a life style of eating. I really thought I was doing great with my old diet, but I guess the bread/milk/sugar and occasional soy was wrong for me.
