Default Apocalypse tonight

If tonight is the end of the world, why are some people storing stuff in case they survive? What about "End of the World" do they think excludes them?

DH would probably be one who wants to survive...with the cockroaches. I'd only want to survive if the pole shift predicted puts Chicago where Hawaii nownsits

My electricity has been off and on all day. Darn Mayans. Surely this isn't caused by the blizzard of the last 24 hours.

Many "2012 prophets," such as David Icke, has thought ahead of the problem of this not occurring and added that "..it will transpire into 2013 where we will see great changes."

A thing's telling me we won't see anything unnatural occurring anytime soon. If at all, pretty far from now.
