Default Prayers needed for my MIL

My MIL was visiting my sister-in-law last thursday. When she got off the couch to head to the kitchen, she tripped over her slipper and went crashing down. The Ambulance was called, and the damage was bad.

She broke two bones in her leg completely shattering her fake knee. She broke two bones in her arm tearing the bulb of her shoulder right out of the rotator cuff.

They did surgery on her leg yesterday and are doing a complete reconstruction and giving her a complete new shoulder and part of her humerous.

Because of her age 78 and her health not so good, she is having a hard time of it. With all the drugs she has been given she has what is called "Hospital Sundown" almost like Alzheimers. Doesn't know hardly any of us. Combative, not trying to heal, pulling out wires etc.

Please pray to give her the strength to keep fighting so she can heal. It was a freak accident but I am really afraid for her right now. Thank you in advance.

Beth

I certainly understand how you and your SIL feel Beth because a similar thing happened to my elderly aunt just last week. She didn't break any bones in her fall but damaged her shoulder really badly. I do so hate the toll that old age takes on our loved ones.

I pray that your MIL is kept pain free, that her operations are successful and that she will recover sufficiently to return to the standard of living she had before.

Thank you for all your prayers. I really appreciate it.

She had her last surgery yesterday. It was suppose to start at 2:00 p.m. They ended up not taking her to the surgery suite until 7:30 pm. It was a very long day for us.

They could not repair her shoulder so she had to have what they called a complete reversal shoulder replacement plus there is also plastic pieces in the humerus! ugh!

Now recovery which will be lengthy. She won't beable to bear weight on her left leg for 8 weeks and arm in sling for 4 weeks.

She doesn't know it yet but she will be going into a rehab center on Saturday. All heck will break loose but we can't take care of her here at home.

lifting and bathing and potty duties and physical therapy! Way too much.

Please keep her in your prayers as she fights EVERYONE on her way to recovery.

My MIL has finished all her surgeries to put her poor little body back together.

She is now in a rehabilitation center where she will stay for at least 2 months.

She's not happy but she wouldn't do the physical therapy if she was home (very stubborn).

It's going to be crazy because the center is 30 minutes away so we are going to take turns spending time with her. (she doesn't like to be alone either ugh).

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. Can't wait until things are back to normal.
